Marty Hurney could be out of a job by June

It's baffling why anyone would want Hurney to stay. He belongs with a team like the Raiders.

I mean, haven't you guys read article after article of NFL insiders mocking Hurney for the Delhomme extension and then getting nothing for Peppers? Marty Hurney is one of the worst GMs in the league.

You apparently have no understanding of that situation.

The Delhomme extensions was done ONLY to work Pepper's franchise tag under the cap.

I don't blame the staff for the Peppers fiasco. They tried to sign him long-term several times (as the highest paid DE). Peppers balked.

You can say they should have traded him, but I don't think we would have EVER gotten a 1st rd pick in the past 2 seasons.

Yippee. Even if that were true, all that shows is that we should have let Peppers walk last year. They just ended up delaying his departure by a year for a non-playoff season and destroyed all Panther front office credibility around the league in the process.

After hearing all the praise Morrison heaped on Hurney this week, it is hard to believe he will be fired. Seems to me if you are about to let someone go, you don't say so many positive things. he could have said nothing rather than what he did. He did leave an out though saying it is totally Richardson's decision.

Still, I expect Hurney will be here through at least 2012. I doubt Richardson gives anyone a long term contract again though. It will be 2 or 3 years at a time.
