My theory is the O staff had so much tunnel vision on the QB that they didn’t fully see the issues with the OL and WR room until it was too late.

I think it hit them during the jets practice.

Canales at least understands how bad this group was and hopefully has improved it by 20-30% or so.

Agree 💯 but I’d also add Tepper was somehow convinced that all we needed was a QB to get us over the hump. They badly underestimated that lack of talent on offense last year.

What bothered me was the "what type of guys are we looking for" conversation.

I didn't get anything that wasn't obvious.

"We need a player that can block".  Ok -- don't we look for that every year?

I hope the stuff they cut out of the vid were things about WHY they felt a specific player met certain criteria that might be considered proprietary to our 2024 overall plan

It was more than that

since Tepper owned the team, and Ron Rivera’s last year too, there  have been a lot   of players who were just happy to get a paycheck, coaches too, it showed

…off the field…and on the field

there are players who get paid and don’t care about the game…that is not what Dan wants…and I applaud him for it.

Evero was in this episode for maybe 3-4 seconds

Yeah well to most people it seems like football is all offense anymore. Defense is only a technicality to be worked around - which they are ‘improving’ the rules annually.

I should add: I am looking forward to seeing him work this year to compare it with last year and see if he is as good as I think he is.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
