Mcconkey was having a great camp til he got hurt.

this notion that a center cannot step in as a rookie is pure fallacy

I understand the concerns with it.  It's a lot to expect a rookie to understand all the nuances of the protection adjustments and whatnot.  While at the same time adjusting to the speed of the NFL game and blocking NFL linemen.

If they thought Corbett could be good enough, that's fair.  But, why not bring in a kid to back him up and potentially play if he gets injured or is awful?

Well we are stuck and have to pin hopes on Corbett.

If Zavala is playing at Guard what can you run? He is horrible. So the guy behind him on the depth chart steps in? It’s hard to be worse I guess.

Otherwise, with the protections you’d have to think the TEs and RBs are drawn up to help on the edge or wherever.. and I really am not seeing it but haven’t seen any good film of padded 11 on 11. Long range twitter vision.

Has Raym taken any reps? Part of the problem is they need Corbett to take as many reps as possible which hurts the depth imo

Y’all should be coaches. You can already tell how these players are going to do in the regular season.

We’ve seen some of them though.

Edit: that said, I expect Mike Sanders to have a better year.

I think Sheena said last week that she hasnt seen him at all

That’s pretty crazy. Hopefully Corbett figures it out and we all will forget about this, but a solid plan B should be in place. Maybe they make a waiver claim on one that gets cut?

    • Im not firm on many things football, but this statement or belief or strategy I am 100% for. Full Offseason the goal is to make the playoffs. Week 1, 1000% I want to win. Weeks 2-10,  1000% I want to win. Until the math stats 0.000000000% chance at NO playoffs, I want to win. *Once* there's no chance at the playoffs, I want to 100% lose every game until the end. You are still loser at 2-15 or 5-12, I want to never lose like this again. I want the best value for losing and suffering. Again the only goal is playoffs. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, I want to win the whole dam show. If you happen to lose in the first round, that's perfectly fine and lets work hard this upcoming off-season to get another chance to make them.  This is the ONLY way to play in the NFL. Anyone not understanding this method of strategy, please call your doctor for a visit...
    • Purdy's good but at the end of the day you're paying first class money for a business class seat.  It's a big problem with the salary cap.  QBs take most of it whether they are Pat Mahomes or not.
    • Purdy saved the 49ers from that three 1st picks for Trey Lance. People forget that. People also forget he should have MVP votes for the 23 season. He's been any where from the 8th(his best/23) to 14th ranked QB, he's legit and guys around top 10 get paid as QBs.....guys in 28th get paid too, he's 4x the QB Trevor Lawrence is and better than BY by miles as well...even without CMC, Samuel(whos a RB playing WE), and half the OL.    *BUT*    You non-believers missed this ultra important mistake that honestly made me reconsider all the praise I gave him. https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/49ers-qb-brock-purdy-throws-blind-40-percent   That's is damming to my case and reset my thinking of his. That's nuclear scary now and I need some time.  too honest for me to overlook.
