My only concern who gets in for the Big 12 and is there any chance Colorado can get back into the playoffs with some help?

A concern fan and I need some answers.

they need 2 upsets and to win this weekend to get to the Big 12 title.   1 could happen.  Kansas St could win.  But everyone else is playing the bottom of the Big12 this weekend.

Essentially, the Big12 exists so the ACC doesn't have to be the biggest joke conference

If SMU loses the title game they may get the boot. Clemson has to win out and even then if they don't make the title game ... meh. Miami is safe (assuming they don't lose to Ga Tech).

Miami plays Syracuse @ Syracuse.   I think them almost getting beat by everyone in the ACC all year finally catches them at the end of the year.  Syracuse can play and they get a pretty good crowd going in that loud dome

Who are the 2 upsets?

BYU and Arizona State both have to lose and Colorado wins out?

  • Colorado beats Oklahoma State
  • Two of BYU, Arizona State or Iowa State lose another game

that's the magic needed.  So you need AZ, Hou, Kan St.  2 of them to win.  Kan St wouldn't be that big of an upset.  The other 2 would.

Miami still has to beat Syracuse and they struggle w/ everyone in the ACC.

Then someone takes an L in the ACC title game.  So you just not going to drop them after an L?

I think the math is now open for 2 ACC teams to get in.  Think it would depend on what the Ls look like going forward.

and that's if Clemson can beat a ranked SEC USC.

People will be arguing about the 11th and 12 spot just like they used to argue about spot #4

but I mean, however gets in....doesn't belong in the CFP.  It should be 4 teams.

People still argue about teams getting snubbed from a 64 team basketball tournament field (sorry, play in games are still play in games in my book). There's always going to be snubs but I feel like a 12 team field is going to include everyone with a legitimate chance to win it all.

Yeah, there just are never 12 teams deep that all really belong in the same tier most years.   Was hard to find 4 some years.  But maybe NIL is just going to remove parity and there simply are going to be more and more teams that could pull it off.   Which hasn’t been the case in days past

So for the record we're 10-1 and 7 of those games weren't even close:

  • Florida - stomped
  • Florida A&M - stomped
  • Ball St - stomped
  • USF - stomped
  • FSU - stomped
  • Duke - stomped
  • Wake Forest - stomped

We were always in control against Louisville and VT (who are a shadow of the team without Drones at QB). We had a miracle comeback against Cal (on the road, Gameday in attendance at the game started at like midnight Miami time), but we actually pulled it off and obviously we had a let down game against GT.

We're clearly a very good team.

Pick another narrative - or hold the same candle to everyone else's record.

The Playoff committee has said they're not going to punish teams for losing the Championship game - probably because a lot of SEC teams have publicly poo themselves about losing said Championship game recently.

I'll believe it when I see it. I think only one ACC team gets in.

You have a very good QB.

and I have been very consistent about knocking Miami for their ACC play.  And Miami definitely got some ref aid along the way.

VT was up in the 4th

Cal was up in the 4th

Lou tied in the 4th

Duke 1 pt game in the 4th

Loss to GT

Wake 6 pt game in the 4th

but in a neutral site…I’m not sure they are even favored vs the #2 or #3 teams in the ACC.  Because of all the other dudes not named Ward.

If you don’t punish teams for losing in a title game then how would you keep Miami out if they win this weekend and then lose to SMU?   They would have to get an at large in that scenario.

    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
    • it's not so much this personal vendetta against the Carolina Panthers as it is more about Bryce Young never not once been in the same conversation with the top 15 or even top 20 Qbs in the NFL ..just saying
