Panthers Draft Pick Status (Week 7)

Recommended Posts

*This is not a tanking endorsement. Just a statement about what needs to happen this weekend to improve our current draft stock

Current Draft order:

1  New England 1-5 (SOS = .454)

2  Cleveland 1-5 (SOS = .510)

3  Jacksonville 1-5  (SOS =  .521)

4  Carolina 1-5 (SOS = .535)

5 LA Rams 1-4 (SOS = .500)

6 Tennessee 1-4 (SOS = .541)

Games that matter to the Panthers draft position.  If the bold team wins, it raises our current draft stock.

Carolina @ Washington

Cincinnati @ Cleveland

Tennessee @ Buffalo

Las Vegas @ LA Rams

Kansas City @ San Francisco

Baltimore @ Tampa Bay

Denver @ New Orleans

Seattle @ Atlanta

Its is what it is.. I think that we let BY ride the bench until after the bye week and then its all him for the rest of the season.

Ultimately we need players. I honestly dont think we are too far away from competing... NEXT year we get DB back and we use this off season to fix the defense... then plunk in a QB and viola! ..............

So far it looks like the Panthers are the only team in the group that really need a qb. Cleveland can have Sanders and his ego maniac Dad if they want them but I'm not sure they will pull the trigger. I hope the do and it Sanders.

Rams and Titans could use one. Especially the Titans. I bet the Raiders drop down over the season too.

That strength of schedule is real volatile right now, and I guess those latter teams are there because they will affect that somehow.

We'll have a fairly strong top of our division it looks like, how many weak sisters do we play? NYG. Maybe the Saints can drag out SOS down and maybe Dallas, but we are going to have to lose to them head to head.

I cannot see how they will out suck the Panthers but it's possible. That would mean a good defensive player is in play. Going to be an interesting draft for the Panthers. As long as they don't trade up again I may be able to sit through the entire draft.

Hell I’d love a trade back.

It would have to be a blockbuster offer before I would consider it if it were me. This team can ill afford to pass on a guaranteed start for a couple of backups and a future unknown.

Just depends on how far back we go.  I wish we could do what the Bears did to us, but I don't think any team is doing that soon.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
