I don't know you could end up being right but I'm beginning to wonder if this franchise is just snakebit or cursed. Much moreso than the Panthers. At least the Panthers have had success and been to two Super Bowl's. Other than the brief highs in the early years and the 90's this franchise has been dead in the water for so long it's wild. Going on 24 years without a playoff series win. And what's crazy is there are other small market teams that have done remarkably more in short timespans compared to us and with debatable differences in talent levels.

Idk if there's anything or anyone that can alter course for this franchise at this point. Just the honest truth.

I dunno. The Lions and Browns turned it around. Heck even the Kings are playing better than the Hornets. Jordan was cheap when it came to coaches and let his family and friends help run the team. If some of the rumors are true, he also had a very large say when it came to the draft after deciding he liked guys that had good runs in the NCAA tourney. That's supposedly how Zeller and Frank the Tank ended up Hornets.

Oh yeah Jordan had his hand in everything it was terrible no doubt. He was comically bad as an executive in any capacity.

Unfortunately so far these new owners look like they could somehow be a downgrade to MJ and that's saying something. Not only is the product on the court a steaming poo pile but then they can't even avoid baffling PR disasters over a few hundred dollars.

The new guys are hedge fund owners/investors, so yeah, I expect things to get worse. All they really care about is turning a profit.

So ... 1 win in the last 17 games. Everyone pretty much checked out for the rest of the season?

You know Ball is checked out, dude can't even stay on the court. What a waste of money, seems once this team pays someone, they stop caring.

Better off now tanking for Flagg

I would totally agree if the NBA wasn’t a fuggin farce and the draft wasn’t rigged.  They will not let us get #1.  Not happening

  • 2 weeks later...

Nice to to see Mark, Melo, and Miles all on the court together, contributing.

But then of course Miller is now out.

Honest question, have we seen a single game with the four M’s starting?

Thats a really solid lineup if they could ever all be healthy together.

Haven't watched a game in weeks and don't plan to start now. But here's some news for you guys about the over the air broadcasts.

Sadly or perhaps not sadly, the Hornets couldn't even get on main local channels. They get stuck with the much lesser known digital secondary channels.

    • Lance Zierlein's combine prospect analysis is now up on NFL.com. He compares Will Johnson to Jaycee Horn  https://www.nfl.com/prospects/will-johnson/32004a4f-4875-1013-48cf-31d3acf04800
    • Before I jump to the mock. Panthers kick off FA with a big defensive signing Milton Williams.  The DT from Philly.  I’ve seen Mike Kaye tweet a bunch how we need to keep an eye on him.  Probably speculation.  But Mike used to work in Philly and has some solid sources in BOA.  I think this could be a real thing.       onto the draft   1st: Jalon Walker- shooting yo the boards is the hybrid LB Edge.  After a really good season in his first ever season at Edge.  Dan Morgan falls in love with the Salisbury native.  The Georgia Edge shows up everywhere on film all over the field.  Walker is also said to be with Travis Hunter in a tier to themselves as far as high character prospects.   This Alpha brings day one impact to the team playing a similar role to another former Georgia Edge (Nolan Smith) up in Philly.   2nd: Andrew Mukuba- those a thin frame.  Mukuba is an explosive athlete and good in coverage.  Evero’s system relies a ton on the safeties.  As we even saw at times as he frustrated us with a safety following Ceedee Lamb.   3rd: Jared Wilson- some people will scratching their heads or be mad with the pick.  Even more-so after we resign Cade Mays.  But following the Philly model.  They don’t care.  They draft the trenches no matter what.  Mays fills the role as backup OG and Center.  Wilson comes in after only 1 year of playing Center.  He graded out as the top Center in CFC this past year.  And he is an athletic Freak, with tons of upside.  The limited experience and scouts viewing him as strictly a Center at the next level slides him to rd 3 even after a eye popping combine.   4th:  trade!  Carolina packages 110 and 141 to move back up into rd 3. at pick 80, Carolina takes Jaylin Noel.  Noel, the WR, gets overshowed by his other Iowa St teamste at WR.  But Noel is was one of the top deep threat big Play WRs in the country.  After his senior bowl his stock really climbed.  Built like a tank, but with speed.  The big thing is his start and stop.  The LA Rams value the deceleration metric when they are scouting WRs (Puka, Kupp, etc)   Noel has one of if not the best deceleration ability of any WR in this class.   4th: 113 Jordan Phillips- big strong athletic NT who had a  big week at the Shrine Bowl.  There is a trend, strengthening the iDL this offseason like iOL last offseason. 5th: Devin Neal- we have Chubba.  But this is a multipack league now.  Sanders will be a cap casualty.  Brooks, unfortunately, will more than likely miss this whole season.  Then year 3 into his rookie contract after missing his first 2 NFL seasons.  You can’t count on him to come back and be that impact guy.  Lucky for us,  this is one of the strongest RB draft class’s.
