That is great and all but based on how Bryce looks....seems unlikely to happen, the best thing is to move on early versus letting it linger. 

Move on, invest into the roster as a whole Free Agency / Draft, and once the ''team'' is ready be in position to make a move for a QB. 

I'd take a Fields, he at least offers elite traits to build off of, or sign a vet to bridge the gap. 

I'd be interested in Milroe if he dropped to the bottom of the 1st in a trade up similar to how we got Legette. Let him sit a year and develop. While we would have still used our likely top 10 pick on a blue chip player, I'm also not against trading back in the first depending on  the options etc. We need a lot.

I mean, he's "looked" better, but compared to how he was playing, HOW much better is that?  This is at a time when a LOT of young QBs are struggling.  Playing QB in the NFL is hard, especially when defenses are set up to force you to go 8-12 plays each drive.  But that's why Bryce was drafted - he had the ability to play the mental chess versus opponents.  He's going to get a chance again, but if he looks overwhelmed again, back to Dalton.

So basically - if Bryce keeps the good play rolling, Canales has to keep the franchise defining trade in.  Even if it's barely good.  If Bryce comes out and turns the ball over 3x in three drives...then I think you have to pull him at that point.

We've seen good stuff from Bryce?  When?  Other than Green Bay last year.

We've seen BY display the ability not to beat us by making bonehead errors.  We've seen that twice.  It's far from good, and far from consistent.  And the bottom line is, that capacity - even if it's consistent - is your baseline for a backup in the NFL.

It would be far better for the franchise if BY flipped a switch and became what a first overall pick should be.  Right now he's looking up at good backups and hoping to get there.

Let me caveat this by saying I don't think BY is the guy we want.

That being said, if he does become that guy, it won't be flipping a switch.  It will be gradual improvement (albeit with some setbacks) over the next few months and probably well into next year.  

And its going to require better play on the part of the guys catching the balls.  The receivers (especially Legette) need to do a better job hanging on to the ball when he does make a good throw.

I am completely uninterested in spending another first round pick on another project that is two or three years away from being two years away. 
 

That’s it neither the coaching staff or the GM was in charged when Bryce was drafted so who knows

Fields is just not an NFL starting QB. It's unlikely he will develop that capability. He is a massively limiting factor in the passing game because he does not see the field well at all. Arguably sees it worse than Bryce.

I'd say it's for sure he sees it worse than BY9.  Fields has every single physical tool you could ever want in a franchise QB, and I know that his development hasn't been good.  But he just doesn't see things.  Sam Darnold at least saw ghosts . . . Fields doesn't even see that.

I was high on Fields coming out, but he hasn't done anything yet to justify it and it doesn't look like he will.

This is why we aren't likely to end up with a top 5 pick. SOS is gonna knock us down the draft order a bunch.
