Young's performance last week is the floor of what I expected from him. It's a nice improvement from how awful he was but let's be real here. 260 yds and a touchdown is median level production.

The floor, really?

Lamar Jackson is leading the league with 254 yard per game and you say 263 yards is median level against one of the best defenses in the NFL

The Panthers have had two long term starting QB's in the span of 30 years. Bryce Young looks halfway decent in a loss to the Chiefs and suddenly we're having to defend Jake Delhomme. There's "glass half full" and then there's "alright that's enough edibles for you".

I never said Bryce is a better QB than Delhomme so there’s nothing to defend.  Was actually making the point that arm strength is overrated.  Peyton Manning had an average arm strength and we all know his career is second only to Brady. .

Lamar Jackson leads the league in passing yards. He's 7th in YPG.

Bryce Young is 40th In YPG. His career average through 24 games is 165 YPG.

But one loss against the Chiefs and it's time to compare him to Lamar Jackson.

This place is exhausting.

Your comprehension skills are at the level of a 6 year old.  The topic was the Chiefs game and that somehow 263 yds is pedestrian. Go troll somewhere else

I think you need to take some time off my guy. I usually like your posts even if I disagree with you but you are going too far coping at the moment. And it's very rich you have the nerve to accuse others of being the troll in this conversation.

Bucs Eagles Cowboys Cardinals.

Can we just get through those upcoming games and then reassess how Bryce is doing?

If arm strength was overrated Cam Newton would still be a Carolina Panther right now.

I can, can you?  You lot can’t even acknowledge he is finally looking the part even if it is a limited sample size.  Let’s give him a chance to continue to prove himself

Once again - nuance is important. One must have adequate arm strength but having a rocket arm is overrated. There’s so much more to playing QB in the NFL.

I think Young will eventually be as good as Teddy if he keeps improving.

I don't think should be seen as an insult, legitimately.

Teddy's floor was consistently a good game manager to his ceiling of border-line top 10 QB who's arm strength didn't blow you away but could make all the throws and generally made good decisions and had some sneaky athleticism.

Teddy started on quite a few teams. He had a good start to his career, had a horrific injury that could have ended his career, came back and played himself into being a starter, got a contract here (and subsequently became another victim of Tepper's impetuousness), and then started games for a few other teams.

Teddy could have been a franchise QB had he not suffered a freak injury, and then he just never ended up in another stable situation.

He still had a good NFL career that could have been great without that injury.

Teddy before that injury did look like a franchise QB, and I dont think that's a bad comp for Young nor an insult in terms of what his career could be based on that comparison.

One game out of 23 isn't a limited sample size. It isn't a sample size at all. We are right back where we started after the Packers loss last season. No more no less.

He's starting and we have no say in it regardless. There is nothing unreasonable about wanting to see at least a few more games of this consistently before making any sort of determination.

Teddy Bridgewater is trash.

If that's Bryce's ceiling you draft a QB in round 1 and let them duke it out in camp.

260 yards is not a median level of production this year. The average per game is 216 passing yards and the Bengals are the only team in the NFL with more than 260 passing yards per game (262).  I'm not going to bother calculating the median because it definitely won't be 260.

It's fine to temper expectations as 260 yards is still just from one game, but let's not pretend it is just median production.

    • Went to school in MD when this came out. Dance floor got CRAZY when this joint came on!
    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks seem to be Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team). Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
