Canales needs lots of work as a playcaller

We literally had a chance to win this game vs arguably the best team in football.

Bro what games do y'all be watching. I have seen some crazy comments today about this game.

Most were expecting a blowout for goodness sake. Chill out people we are fine.

Yeah, XL dropping a ball to win the game doesn’t change the fact Canales has Bryce Young going to line over and over with no time.   Pretty sure we took several delay of games today INCLUDING that last drive to win it.

more football games will be played after today.  So the playcaller putting Bryce in bad spots is something we should care about.

only caring about 1 play isn’t really how football works

We win the game if Sanders kept running his route in the 1st quarter.

I'm not exactly caring about wins right now. I just want us to be competitive and we have been doing that with a limited roster.

Again we just went toe to toe with arguably the best team in the NFL. We won today.

Man I’ve disagreed with your takes a lot over the years. Especially about Steve Smith when he was still here but you always had level headed takes.

That said it is obvious from your commentary on the forum that you are wanting and expecting Bryce to fail.

You gotta own up to the fact that he’s playing his ass off right now. And I say that as a Stroud guy. He is playing well in spite of WR and RB let downs, and the refs rigging the games with horseshit calls.

So what if we had some delay of games. Canales is a first year head coach who’s learning. Had you flipped a coin the last 3 weeks we would have beated KC and Tampa.

I know that being a Panthers fan sucks and is basically an acceptance of emotional abuse but it is okay to be positive about this team.

Ok.  Who said we don’t if he catches it?

I want us to be competitive too.  So I’d like Bruce Young not to be panicking to get a snap off over and over and over all game.  I would assume the penalties and rush jobs don’t make things better and easier for him.  So again, we play more games going forward.

CRA ain't been the same since Colorado turned their season around. He's been out of it since then lol

I’m criticizing Canales.  Not Bryce Young.  Bryce Young played very well.

I said early Philly would be the game I reevaluate my Bryce take.  He cleared that bar and then some today.

lot of people made Bryce’s life harder today.  XL is one. Canales is another.  So again, I’d like Canales to do a better job for his young QB.   Cam bitched about the same thing in his career early on and it puts the QB in tougher spots.

Even with those mistakes we still had a chance to win this game. I can see if we got blown out. Dude we literally had a chance at the end to win this game.

If you gonna blame someone look at XL aka Brick Hands. Dude has been dropping everything thrown his way.

I don’t think you even understand my point.   Yall are defending Bryce like I’m criticizing him.   Which isn’t being said.  Bryce was ready to win a game today.  Other people? Plenty not ready on the level of Bryce, Hubbard and AT today.

and XL shouldn’t be the only whipping boy.  I think Canales is clearly holding Bryce’s growth back now as he ain’t ready for what he is supposed to be doing.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
