Bryce Haters Inc.

A few folks that said they knew 100% that BY9 would never be an NFL QB due to his size (and that fans supporting him are just delusional) are now butthurt over being called a hater? Le gasp. 😱

Glad some folks are coming around. There's a huge difference in "Show me at an NFL level" vs. "He's never thrown further than 20yds in his entire life" It's nice to see the folks in the former coming around to the point of allowing themselves (and others!) to enjoy Panther football.

Bryce has gone through a hell of a start to his career that would've easily broken many other young QBs. Glad to see the young man staying mentally well and competing for his teammates.

I just Poo the trolls.   Mainly Electro and clown face.

Tired of reading their nonsense.

He’s really Drew Brees like…stats are very close at this point in their careers and Bryce is more mobile.  I think he’s going to be the MVP in a few years. Dude is head strong and knows the game. I think the benching was just a good reset as it was apparent he had the skills to succeed at this level.  Folks are so knee jerk and hellbent on the “next” guy is the guy.  No, Bryce is our QB barring injury, etc.  Draft for run defense and the Panthers should have a nice playoff run.

More mobile than Drew ever was.... what I've seen from Bryce that changed my mind is the pocket presence and how he's feeling the pressure now, he was picked #1 because we thought he could be be Patrick M light light.

Lately we have started to see those kind of plays he's buying time in the pocket keeping his eyes downfield the entire time.

Why can't people simply see this?   Instead of brilliant balling outplayed mahomes hurts etc.   He's raised his play to top 20 nfl starter

Some people develop a little slower than others. Hell, we're still waiting on you to become a halfway decent poster.

Exactly.  Which might be the biggest difference maker of them all.  That was actually something many questioned.  He has done a 180 on so many visual things like body language that I feel are tough to fake in the moment.

it’s frankly rare for any QB to rebound out of where Bryce found himself

I always felt my criticism of Bryce was deserved (still think it was) but the people pointing at his stats right now and going oh 5.5 yards per attempt either haven't watched the games or legitimately just enjoy the panthers sucking..... there is a huge difference he's not just dumping balls off to check downs anymore he's navigating the pocket extremely well keeping his eyes down field and coming up clutch in big moments....  if he hadn't had multiple drops on big plays and Sanders just stopping running we knock off the eagles.

He's went toe to toe with two of the best teams in the NFL the last few weeks and performed as well as you can ask of him.

YES!

That's it.  He deserved every  bit of his criticism early even if some was due to poor coaching, poor roster, etc etc.

He wasn't doing his part.     Well now, he is a completely different player and he deserves the praise he is getting.

I think that handful of people still arguing against the growth Bryce has shown are :

A: Trolls

B: Would rather their original takes be right than the Panthers be good

C : Don't actually watch the games and just box score post.

He has played his ass off multiple weeks in a row and against very good teams, including this past week against the best defense in the NFL.    Can it and will it continue?

I dunno but it gives us hope for the future.

Seven people took me saying "Bryce Young's doing a good job, but he needs to be challenged next year" as a personal affront, because it wasn't anointing him as the presumptive league MVP like they demand. Weird people.

Completed air yards per pass attempt is a 5.5 yard average for the Panthers.  Buffalo, Lions and KC are all below us.  KC actually dead last and they are the technical best team in the NFL.

what really hurts the Panther offense is we are 31st in YAC.  We don't have players that do anything w/ the ball in their hands.  Some of that is talent.  Some of that is scheme.

adding to this, Buffalo, Lions and KC are also all in the top 6 in terms of YAC.

that's the difference.  We put the ball in people's hands and that's the end of the play.  The good teams put the ball in the hands of their guys and the plays extend.

We basically play the game w/ TEs everywhere at this stage.  We have actual TEs.  Old WRs with great hands that really threatens like a TE downfield.  And a young WR who plays like a TE.   We need more diversity at WR.  We need some explosive quick feet.

    • Call me crazy but if you’re in the bottom 7 in efficiency using Zone 84% of the time why not try something else? You paid Jaycee top 5 CB money use him more effectively. Zone is only efficient if you can generate a good pass rush to force a QB into mistakes otherwise you will get picked apart

    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
