Oline:

Corvey Irvin is 6'3'' 300lbs. Why the hell would we take a DT with our first pick??? It makes NO SENSE to me it would be like taking the exact same player as last year again this year. Take a damn position where we need to fill the hole. Don't spend the pick on a guy that is going to play 8 snaps a game. If they do this I will be pissed...

that's what i'm talking about. if we draft a defensive tackle before round 6, he better be 325+ or that wouldn't be cool. we already have a stable full of smaller defensive tackles.

although i've read that DE's are more risky to take early (first round) and that mid-round DE's turn out serviceable more frequently than at other positions. ie you're more likely to get a bust early and more likely to get a quality starter later in comparison to other positions.

LOL, like Fox is going to reveal anything about what he thinks we need.

I think Fox is more likely to say something like this as a smoke screen so teams won't feel like they need to jump on a DT they like when our pick is coming up.

Corey Irvin is not projected as the type of run-stuffing DT we need and is totally unproven at this point.

CorVey...

..and he is about as unproven as any rookie out there...

McFarland was the largest player on the Colts SB team with Meeks at the def. coordinator spot. He was 6'3'' 300lbs.

Saying that we should draft a rookie DT to play a lot of snaps because Corvey Irvin is unproven is ridiculous logic. NOBODY on our DL is proven this year. Does that mean we need to go out and get guys to replace Everette Brown, Charles Johnson, and the DTs we picked up via trade or FA?

There isn't a DT in this draft that we could get that will be able to come in and do a better job than the DTs we already have.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
