Hot Take: This team will never get over the hump, until we move on from Bryce.

The alternative is you understand Bryce isn't the future AND that this team isn't a QB away from contending anyways.

You trade Bryce for whatever the best offer is for him this offseason then go and sign someone like Jameis or Wentz this offseason to be the starter next year.  Both are going to end up costing your team wins, it's they're not starters anymore, but they both have big arms and aren't afraid to sling the rock.

It will help our young offensive weapons grow as they'll get tons of targets from all sorts of routes, but yes, they're likely to cause us to lose a lot of games, which is fine as it's a QB loaded draft next year, where we then draft a QB with our 1st rounder.

Fans won't like it next year while we're losing, but the reality of the situation is that it's the fastest way to get us back on the right track towards having a contending team again.  If we luck out and get the #1 pick and get Manning, then we could have a really bright future too.

This is the way

Young: top 5 rated qb the past 2 weeks

People in this thread: young is the worst starting qb in the league! Sign Flacco, wentz, (insert random qb who hasn’t been good in 5 years). They are all better than young will ever be!!!! He is the reason we are losing!

Defense: Gives up almost 400 yards in the first half last week and not too far off from being statistically the worst defense in PPG of all time.

Averaging 59% completion, 180 yards

Claiming that’s top 5 anything the last 2 weeks just ain’t going sell outside of a segment of the huddle

you can manipulate stats to tell you whatever you want, the reality is he is not producing.

So this team is a playoff team and Young is holding them back?

No.  But what does Josh Allen have to do with Bryce Young at this point??   It just randomly throwing a name into the conversation.

Josh Allen made the big leap in year 2 and was turning into the one man show playmaker that season.   He had a 72 year old Frank Gore at RB,  John Brown and Cole Beasley as his top 2 WRs. No one believed in him either going into that year.  He wasn't setup for success.  Ignoring defenses.....the two got nothing in common at that point in their careers.  Allen belongs in a Cam Newton convo, not a Bryce Young convo.

Yall brought it up. I'm just trying to understand where all the vitriol is coming from.

I responded to someone bringing him up.  I dismissed it.

I don't have vitriol.  This is just my least favorite part of any season.  Generally it is early.  Time is just off.  It's the Robbie Anderson is why better than DJ Moore part of the season.  Where we take something and just run off the freaking cliff with it.

Folks essentially are forced into "knocking" Bryce Young because people just getting silly with it IMO.  Bryce has made improvement most of didn't see coming.  Bryce still isn't a very good QB.

didnt he have like 30tds year 2?

yeah, he got nothing to do with Bryce Young at this point.   Allen morphed into Allen year 2.  That was the jump.  Maybe there was a convo last year of them both just not looking NFL caliber in year 1.

Well unfortunately for those that want him gone it's not happening. He's playing his way into the permanent starter. He will be here for the next 3 years at minimum. Sorry guys.

I mean, I conceded earlier this year he is the dude next year.  I'll root for him to keep improving.  But some of the hot takes on him just go too far not to come out against them.

I'm not lobbying for a new QB.  I want a new D.   Well, I might be open to replacing Dalton with a slightly younger version.

I'd like a QB room revamp. Late round/UDFA/whatever development guy, veteran for camp (younger than Dalton) and go from there. I don't expect them to beat Bryce in camp, but I think a competition in camp will be good for the team.

I don't want us to invest in QBs since we have so many holes. I just would like to see Canales able to pick his QBs (outside Bryce ofc).

    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47371200/sources-rams-fire-special-teams-coordinator-chase-blackburn LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams have fired special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move marks the first in-season coaching change that Rams head coach Sean McVay has made in his nine seasons in Los Angeles. Rams assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica will take over and become the lead special teams coach, a source told Schefter. The Rams, 11-4 and second place in the NFC West, lost to the Seahawks on Thursday night in a game that included a Seattle punt return for a touchdown and a missed 48-yard field goal by Los Angeles kicker Harrison Mevis. The Seahawks (12-3) overtook the Rams for first place in the division and the top overall record in the NFC thanks to the 38-37 overtime victory. Though the Rams have lost only four games this season, three have involved special teams miscues. In the Rams' first loss of the season, 33-26 to the Eagles, Los Angeles had its final two offensive possessions end with blocked kicks. In the Rams' Week 10 victory over the Saints, kicker Joshua Karty missed an extra point and a 39-yard field goal attempt. After the game, McVay said the Rams' special teams issues "can't continue like this." Los Angeles replaced long-snapper Alex Ward with Jake McQuaide and Karty with Mevis, who had not missed a kick until Thursday night in Seattle. Blackburn, 42, was in his third season as the Rams' special teams coordinator. A former linebacker for the Giants and Panthers, he also has worked as an assistant with Carolina and Tennessee.
    • It was a bad play from Icky but the OL didn't give up a sack until late in the 4th quarter and Bryce just stood there like he was canatonic. If our 3rd year number one overall pick can't overcome one single sack against a rebuilding Saints team that should only have 2 wins this season then it isn't ever going to happen   This is your quote. I mean I’ve quoted it twice. It was followed by calling people that defended him fugers and several other meltdowns I can also quote.    Shame you for working for a living??? Wow this is a whole new level to your victim mentality thing you like to do. You don’t have to watch games live. Or don’t spend an entire thread arguing about something you didn’t get the full picture of. I miss parts of games all the time. That’s just life. Not even going into the whole losing all respect thing.
    • Rams ended up firing ST coach and former Panthers coach Chase Blackburn after the loss. Sounds all too familiar.
