The reality is we have spent most of the Tepper era fugging around.  We tried to instantly solve the QB problem - failed.  Tried a Program Builder Coach - Failure.  Tried a Carolina Connection Retread - Failure.

FINALLY - Tepper is taking a backseat and he's going to allow the guys he's paying big bucks to actually run the team.  They will have two more years to see if they have what it takes, then you move on.

As far as QBs - look, they were all top three picks.  Baker #1, Darnold #3 and Bryce #1.  These are all very talented QBs.  It sure helped Baker going to a team that spend money and picks on Tom Brady's SB team.  Sam went to a great QB/system coach with an all world WR that added quality pieces to support a rookie QB.  Bryce came into a team bereft of talent.  We traded the farm for Bryce.  We have been "rebuilding" poorly for 6 years.

So what I'll say is that the Panthers have two years or so.  Either we start to make some noise in 2025 and win in 2026; or we start over again. Giving these guys three years is a good leash.

What are you talking about

beurlein was 7 years older in 99 than darnold now, and that panthers team was 8-8. Plus the offense didn’t really go insane until the second half of the season, and still ate poo against a blah Steelers team in week 15 or 16. fuging Fred lane fumbling on that opening drive at the goal line

Minnesota is a good team top to bottom and has been all year.

With an elite defense too.

    • Especially with no other major sports in the area other than UNCW basketball and soccer. It's a good 2 1/2 hour drive just to catch a collegiate football game. If this new arena were built I would hope it also includes an Adult League - I would join up and time allowing would be more than happy to help coach some youth teams. 😄
    • That was real fear in his eyes when the rope was being taken. My younger days, I had my best friend that happened to be black come over all the time. I had the nicest bulldog on the planet, my friend Damon was scared to death of him. His grandmother and daddy taught him to fear all dawgs and seen the same fear in his face and voice.    I think alllll young kids should take swimming lessons and not fear the water. Very thankful my parents did this, I no longer get in the ocean since its 50% sewage. But I enjoyed all the lakes, pools, and oceans I swam in.
    • My personal opinion is the non-guaranteed contract is the main reason for NFL success. MLB and NBA players are on cruise control after their big contracts and it shows in the product.  NFL is each year you are fighting for your job. Same for the majority of the public.... You get lazy or try to coast after the 100+ million contract, your ass will be cut within 1-2 years. Then the next one will not even touch 100 million+. Besides a few NBA players like Kobe was coming for blood with a 300 million contract or 1 doll hair deal. Brandy Beal just reached a buyout where he was getting 110 million, many other cases..... I dare say his name for the hornets guy..... MLB sooo many times as well.    If the NFL starts fully guaranteeing all contracts, Id have a new hobby to fill the hours of entertainment NFL gave me.
