You should have an idea based on the places/situations he has turned down the past two seasons.

If he takes the Raiders job under Davis after snubbing the Panthers under Tepper...Le Ouch 😖

That said, it's not farfetched to believe he was self aware enough in the past to believe he wasn't ready.

And frankly, kinda hard to deny that his past decisions have put him in a pretty good spot.

As of right now, I think we are in better shape than the Raiders.  That could change of course, but Bryce has played well the last 8 games or so, now we just need to tweek a couple of spots on offense, and fix the defense.

We are definitely not in a better spot than the Raiders but that is a sinking and floating turd argument, ultimately.

Those really aren't debatable points.

Sure, they are. Raiders roster is pitiful. They have the best young TE in the game. He’s probably the best TE period.

Other than Bowers and Maxx Crosby (28yo at start of next season), what makes their roster special?

Their roster isn't special. Ours is historically bad. That is the difference.

I guess Johnson and Glenn have all the time in the world now to choose their next destination. History has shown even after a game like tonight, that usually doesn't affect interest.

Although if both leave, I think Lions fans are going to have a much bigger pill to swallow. Things tend to go bad for teams that has their staff poached away.

It won't affect interest, but it COULD affect Johnson's decision to leave, especially if it's for the Raiders.

I think it's going to be tougher for him to go to a complete re-build without a QB after a loss like this one and not come back for one last run at a SB and then hopefully land with whatever team gets the #1 pick and Manning.

    • And that makes you right.
    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
