If the Georgia coaches are saying he may come in at 255 and keep his speed at sub 4.5 then he challenges Carter for top pick

I wouldn't go that far.  Nolan Smith was 240 and ran a sub 4.4 and still went pick 30.  Combine doesn't make a player jump that much unless it's a bad team that drafts badly.

How many of you Jalon Walker truthers have actually watched full game tape on him? Just curious? I have. Multiple games. As an edge, he is very poor against the run, has a hard time holding his ground. Gets bullied by the 6’5 300 pound lineman once they get their hands on him because he’s only around 6’1 and naturally a smaller guy compared to other edges. Can he rush the passer? Yes, at times. But at this rate he’s an ILB who can rush on occasion because of his run defense liability. I don’t think you draft that at #8. Sorry. I’ll pass.

That is what I heard.  His ratings as a player were high, but as an edge, he was not great.  I see a player who would bust if not used properly.   Tweener?  I used to coach football at his high school (in the 90s), so I want him to do well.

My final prediction for today:  We like to draft local boys, so Jalen from Salisbury is possible.  So is James Pearce from Tennessee.  I think Pearce will be drafted before Walker.  (MARK MY WORDS!!!)  I think it is very possible that the Panthers draft him.  MHS Proclaims, Pearce will be the pick.

Considering that currently they will not pick again until pick 57 one would think that every player in-between could be in play as well. If they really want a pure edge rusher they will pick the best available after Carter. You may be on to something there MHS.

It is ridiculous how some people react when someone disagrees with their opinion.

First of all, this is before the combine and there is a lot more info coming out.  If you have locked in on a pick you are a doofus.   That is right.  A doofus.  No, that was a test.  We have fake photos, names, and we are on the internet.  It takes zero courage to call people names--see?

There are people who make solid points and back them with facts.  It is not important that you change someone else's mind or prove yourself to be right; it is important that we consider all viewpoints.

WRONG THINKING:

I don't give a crap if Snow agrees with me--he likes being wrong, pathetic loser.

CORRECT THINKING:

Snow is not in agreement with my position.  What are his reasons?  Do I still believe my position?  Hmmm.  He has some good points.  I see his reasons.  I will stay with my position, but I appreciate the mature exchange of thinking. At no point should I attack him personally because that is what turds do in sanboxes when they are 6. It is not my position to focus on him--I should focus on his position.  I am not a child.

This is sarcasm, but unfortunately, necessary.  Thumb Up Ok GIF by LLIMOO

He is going to have a good combine, and I think he is the guy we are not talking about.  He is (surprisingly) good vs the run too.  I have predicted 221 players to be our first round pick so far--pretty sure I will be right.

Or the next Greg Hardy

That was always BS what they did to Hardy and the Panthers all over a tape of some other guy tripping out...

I could use a lil crazy in my edge rusher. I'm not trying to hangout with anyone or have my kids lookup to the guy, winning games is what matters

Also any and everyone can allege something happened but no court case play ball..

Edge should be the 1st pick

My pre combine rnk:

Carter

Green

Pearce

Walker

Imo

Yeah im leaning more towards green and pearce over walker as well (obviously don't see carter falling to us). But damn i can definitely see us drafting walker or mykel. I can see us falling in love with one of those georgia boys for sure.

Was interesting to see Canales talking about Warren though and the many ways he could see him being utilized. I don't see us drafting him other than in an unlikely trade-back scenario, but it was interesting to see/hear his answer when asked about warren.

1a. Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
1b. Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

Interesting. We are not talking safeties--and we all know how a stud can change the defense (Ed Reid, Troy Polyester from Pittsburgh)  I guess we need a S with a great beard or a great head of hair.

Seriously, S is pretty deep in this draft class.  I expect one on day 1 or 2.

It is almost, in some minds, a toss up between Green and Pearce for the second edge, but the more I read about and watch video of Pearce, the more I like him.  Green is a stud as well.

Panthers HC Dave Canales lists team’s top 3 needs for 2025 offseason

Not sure if he was putting the needs in order but S was mentioned second when asked about top 3 needs

Over the sun pick: Carter

Over the moon pick: Graham

Likely pick: Walker

Wouldn't hate it pick: Nolen, Pearce, Green

Wouldn't be a fan of but would talk myself into pick: Mykel, T-MAC, Starks

So I am guessing Warren TE is not even under consideration for you.

    • Dude... you're just all over the place. You're the one who said T-Mac is better right now than Chark was at his best.
    • When I say "average NFL WR", for me, that's comparing him to all WRs in the league during that season/span of time.  He was of course better than those #4-6 WR's that can't even get on the field, but talent/ability wise, he probably wasn't any better than a #3 WR for most NFL teams, he just happened to be on one of the teams in 2019 with even worse WR's so he put up solid stats for the season. Here's more or less how I'm looking at it. Take T-Mac right now and Chark at his best, put them on every NFL team at this very moment, and where would they fall on the depth chart come Week 1 (basically, the teams that don't put the rookies at #1 to "make them earn it in camp" don't count, it's projecting week 1 depth charts). T-Mac would be at worst the #2 WR on the majority of teams this season, (hell, he's likely our #1 at this very moment right now already), peak Chark would not.  Yes, T-Mac still has to prove himself at this level, but his current ability, even as a rookie who hasn't played a snap yet, would have him above Chark on any team's week 1 depth chart. Because again, you can't just fall back on "well Chark had a 1,000 yard season" and use that as the reason for having him above T-Mac.  As he didn't have that 1k yards because he was a beast, it was because he was the only halfway decent receiving option on a bad team that was always losing and passing the ball (the Jags had the 7th worst scoring differential that season).
    • We clearly need to add a veteran stopgap at safety one way or the other.
