Greg Hardy shows elite speed...

I apologize if this has already been posted, I didn't see it when I searched around.

Reed says Hardy blew away the lineman in their post practice sprints.

If he's that fast he should run with the LB's or DB's. With his motivational issues he needs to be pushed and that would be a good way to let him know he'll be expected to give it all he's got every day. Heck, the fact that he blew them away at the END of practice could mean he wasn't working all that hard.

I'm going to give him the benefit of a doubt and assume he's showing why he was so highly heralded as a top 5 pick last year. :D

...With his motivational issues he needs to be pushed...
I haven't seen any questions about his motivation outside of the fringe scouting message boards, where those kinds of things just get thrown around to see if they'll stick. He has durability issues, and could use a little more upper body strength, but if he had motivation issues I doubt he would be blowing anyone away at the end of practice.

Keep him healthy and we got a steal.

This guy has a huge upside if he can stay healthy.I watched some film and he reminds me of Peppers. With 4.79 speed he may be our DE of the future. My only concern is duribility though his injuries to his wrist and foot could have been just bad luck.I would think after being considered a 1st rd pick a couple of years ago he would have a lot to prove.

I had a chance to "communicate" with him at 2 OTAs this month. He was rather "angry" one day and quiet but pleasant the next. He is competing, so a range of emotions is expected. I compared him to Peppers as well. I don't see the physical presence Peppers had, but he is a specimen. I am guessing Hardy could be a head case at times. But Everette Brown and Tyler Brayton are high character guys (don't know about Johnson). I think he is in the right place.

Hardy said that his mind is spinning right now, and he is not that smart. Sprints are what he can do without thinking to show off his athleticism. Winning the sprints tells me that he is giving 100% more than anything.

He could be the steal of the draft if he stays healthy and learns. He has a great position coach. I like his chances.

BTW--On June 15 both DTs were on the sideline nursing injuries. Leonard played it off when I asked him. He said it was his ankle. I told him in as authoratative a voice as I could considering I was right beside him, 'This injury crap has got to come to an end. We need you to be the man in the middle, not the man in the cast." He agreed, slapped me on the back, and went to the dressing room. I did note that he has confidence and sees this as his time to shine. He is an impressive player from a physical standpoint.

I'm sorry... but who are you to be "authoritative" (that's how you spell it by the way) to Leonard?

I'm going with the "glass half-full" route here. That Hardy is giving the extra effort some believed he was lacking in college. Which may or may not have been caused by health problems. If he understands he is a professional now and getting paid; it may help turn his "motor" to the "on" setting.

If Hardy stays healthy and gives the extra effort along with Norwood the Panthers could have a serious pass rush duo for years to come.

I have no idea how a guy who was rated by SI as the preseason consensus first overall pick managed to fall all the way to the 6th round. I had totally forgotten about him and it seems like everybody else did too.

Ahead of both McCoy and Suh on that list. Unbelievable.

He probably cost himself a lifetime worth of money by deciding to go back to Ole Miss for his Senior season. At worst, he probably would have gone in the teens had he declared for 2009.

    • I was here the past two weeks while you dominated every thread with constant complaining. I decided I wasn't going to try even posting with all that negative crap. All of you would  have found great amusement in trying to attack anyone with a more reasoned  positive approach. So I waited until now to come here to celebrate a win. Not to champion Bryce. It was only after you and others make negative comments despite the huge win that I commented. I am a Panther fan not a Bryce fan or Bruce hater. I will support him as long as he is a Panther. After that he is largely dead to me. But again won't go back and forth. I have nothing to defend and just going to enjoy the win.
    • Bar is on the floor boss.  And he remains way too inaccurate even in the most conservative asks of a gameplan.
    • Josh Allen is a playmaker and the closet thing to Cam Newton the league has seen.  So yeah, Bryce isn’t…..just like Josh Allen  Buffalo does not have better personnel than us across the board on offense.  Their leading WR last year was freaking Shakir followed by a disappointing rookie season by rookie WR.  We had the most expensive OL in the NFL last year.  A rock solid backfield.  With comparable WR talent.  If give them a clear TE edge but it’s a wash given out OL investment.  what they do have is a QB that makes everyone human in the field around him better.
