Want a laugh?...Skip Bayless calls Clausen "A Poor Man's Jeff George"

Yep, and until lebron went to miami..skip is the only one to call lebron out on what he wasnt good at (consistent shooting, having the clutch gene)...now everyone is saying he cant win a ring without help which is what skip said the whole time

LeBron has what I call the Josh Smith attitude. There are only two guys on the planet who are so freakishly athletic that they can not be stopped by anyone but themselves when they drive to the hoop, but for whatever reason they both love to take inconsistent shots rather than go right at the hoop.

I would say Clausens intangibles and descision making look much better than his arm right now.

That is what I was thinking, he has it backwards. Clausen showed good intangibles and good decision making but he throws it rather awkwardly. I don't know but I would swear that the toe injury has corrupted his delivery and he seems to throw everything sidearm and low. That is not what I read about him in college before the injury.

Thats interesting. Because LeBron scored more points in the paint than any other player in the NBA last year. He does fall in love with that 3 point shot too much at times tho, but I wouldnt put Josh Smith in the same sentence as LeBron. 2 totally different levels of b-ball IQ.

I know they aren't the same level especially on the IQ part, but LeBron should want to take over more games by driving to the hoop even more than he does. He is too big and too athletic not too. I understand he wants to show he is a complete player and can hit a three, but when they dominate while he racks up points its usually when he just goes to the paint play after play.

I compare the two though because I am a KG fan so I followed the Celtics. Three years ago when Atlanta was giving Boston a run for their money it coincided with Smith going to the paint. In the games they were getting blown out it seemed like he was trying to take too many shots rather than drive, and his jumper is far from polished.

LeBron could rack up 40 a game just by driving entire games, putting the other team in foul trouble, and since he would be living at the line its not like the other guys around him would run out of time to score. He would leave plenty on the clock.

So after seeing Clausen play 5 series in a pre-season game, Skip has concluded that Clausen is Jeff George...

People don't like Notre Dame because Notre Dame is like the spoiled kid who gets everything they don't deserve (NBC contract, media attention, etc). Jimmy Clausen is the face of Notre Dame right now, so people don't like Jimmy Clausen.

We should be thankful for pinheads like Skip because the anti-Notre Dame smear campaign against Clausen in the draft caused him to fall right into our laps.

Agree that Bayless is way off base but for very different reasons. Jeff George was one of the best pure passers in the game who had a gun for an arm. His problem was he argued with the coaches, didn't take directions well and was extremely cocky.

Clausen is the complete opposite. He fits in well in the locker room, takes good direction, has stayed humble and really doesn't have the arm that George had at all.

    • Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is putting the league on notice early into his NFL career, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is well aware.  “I think he’s a stud,” Shanahan told reporters Thursday. “He’s going to be one of the best receivers in this league sooner than later. He’s got all the skill sets to do it, and I think he’s just getting started.”  Through 11 games played, McMillan has racked up 748 receiving yards on 54 receptions. He ranks sixth in the NFL in receiving yards and leads all rookies in the category.  Carolina selected McMillan as the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. San Francisco had the 11th overall pick.  Did the receiver out of Arizona catch Shanahan’s eye in draft preparation?  “Yeah, big time,” Shanahan said.  Shanahan also said that he thought the receiver would be taken well ahead of the 49ers’ draft position, but the team did their due diligence when scouting the best overall draft picks in the 2025 class. With McMillan off the board, San Francisco ended up selecting defensive end Mykel Williams with the 11th pick to bolster its defensive line. https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kyle-shanahan-tetairoa-mcmillan/1893558/
    • Koochie is playing his best hockey yet so far but it’s a small sample size
    • In basically every win but Atlanta he's had 2-3 plays that were a big deal but he also was part of why we needed those 2-3 plays instead of just cruising.
