What are you looking for in the Jets game?

I'd look for pass protection for Moore against the Titans in week 3. This game is going to see very little 1st team play if they go with the traditional preseason rotation.

I'm looking to see if Hardy can come out strong again. I'm also looking to see if they play Steve Smith with Cantwell or Clausen some. I'm also curious about the LB situation to see if they continue Beason at OLB, or move him back to MLB. I'm also going to watch Special Teams with interest... as it seems this unit is in the most trouble at the moment.

I want to see us put together a drive without killing ourselves. I don't care how many points we score I just want us to be able to move the ball.

Also want to see if Hardy gets any looks with the 1s and how he does.

Want to see if the secondary can take advantage of an erratic QB.

I want to see more production from the wide receivers...I think Edwards had the most receptions for the wideouts in game one at 2. Somebody needs to step up...I hope charley Martin and trent guy can play some.

The run defense should get a nice test and Sanchez looked pretty good in their first game...a lot of quick passes. It will be tough to get to them unless the db's play tighter.

Finally I would like to see a much better performance from special teams...in all areas, coverage returns and kicking.

    • That's sometimes the case when it comes to the X's and O's of the game, and in film study. But when it comes down to the little things like hand/foot movement to beat X, Y, or Z coverage off the line or any other number of nuanced like that, basically the things players are discussing on the sideline between series, that's where the vets come into place. Those are the things that if the coaches who didn't have a ton of success were good at, they'd likely have had more success in their careers. But either way, none of that changes that coaches can only do so much, having vets to lean on is imperative to young players in their early years, it's not really even debatable.
    • Underrated point. And I can definitely see the same thing happening in Dallas. The Norman thing was so stupid. And I think (rightfully) it was the beginning of the end for Gettleman
    • GB thinks they have that in Love. Maybe they do maybe they don't. We'll see how it plays out. Ultimately it's all about the results on the field in the way of wins, losses, and ultimately rings. If they win a SB in the next few years it was obviously worth it.
