Roster Predicition / Roster cuts

Gettis needs to make this team.. this guy has got him some play making ability... Wright and Moore are likely going to be the odd men out...

I'm with you 100%

He has the size & speed combo and pretty much the most upside out of any WR on this team.

I agree as well. Gettis does need to make this team. He'll be a beast further into the season when he really starts to flow with the game. His technique is raw, but his talent isn't. For WR, I'll go with: Smith, Lafell, Gettis, Moore and Edwards (or Guy). I really don't think they'll cut Edwards though just based on how much they gave up to get him, which is really sad IMO.

DE: Johnson, Brayton, Brown, Hardy and Moore (Hilee Taylor will finally be shown the door this year.)

DT: Louis Leonard, Tank Tyler, Ed Johnson, Derek Landri

Those were pretty much the only areas we were really evaluating at, right? And I think Hunter Cantwell will be our #3 or a FA, and Pike will hopefully be stashed on the PS.

I think that Jarrett will be playing in the NFL this year. Probably in Seattle.

I just hope we trade him for a late round pick if we do decide to get rid og him, I can gaurentee Seattle would give a draft pick for him and with how we find great talent late in the draft it would be a good deal, but I hope we keep him

Am I the only one that thought Guy still looked bad out there? He didn't get more than a few yards and also made a couple bad plays letting the punt hit the ground when he should have caught it. I haven't seen anything from him yet for me to say he should make the team. I think people are just happy he didnt fumble it.

I also think alot of people have been putting too much stock in Gantt's report of K.Moore. He hasn't done anything that would keep him from making the team. He practices hard, plays hard. And I would want him out there should Smith get injured during the season instead of Edwards or Gettis or Wright right now.

We may keep 6. Here is what I think they will do in order:

1. S Smith

2. B. Lafell

3. K. Moore

4. W. Wright (IR? if so, Jarrett might not get cut. Those of you who thing Jarrett is safe, you better take into consideration the second half last night--6' 3" Gettis took his job)

5. A. Edwards

6. D. Gettis

7. D. Jarrett (Will get cut because he is stupid, slow, and real stupid).

6.

No, you are not. I agree. We gave him a chance to return punts. He failed.

Moore is OK. He cannot carry the team, something we needed in Smith's absence and Jarrett's invisibility act. He will be fine. Gantt should not be allowed to write about a player competing with AE.

Jarrett is a joke. They should not cover him, or let a DE/LB do it. I feel we are more threatening with Lafell/Gettis out there. They were open a lot more.

Sorry Jarrett will make the team... Moore is the odd man out..

Will Be..

Jarrett

Lafell

AE

Wright

Guy/Gettis

I am assuming that you meant to leave SS off and are saying we are going to carry 6 WR's.

I don't understand why all of you think that a WR that barely contributes on offense and does nothing on ST is going to make this roster. Jarrett is gone. IF he was a decent ST player then I could see him staying, he is not, so I think that he is outta here.

In no particular order:

QB: Moore, Clausen, Cantwell

RB: Williams, Stewart, Sutton, Goodson, Fiammetta

WR: Smith, Jarrett, Wright, LaFell, Edwards, Gettis

TE: King, Barnidge, Rosario

T: Gross, Otah, Schwartz, Williams

G: Wharton, Bernadeau, Robinson, Davis

C: Kalil

DE: Brayton, Johnson, Brown, Hardy, Moore

DT: Johnson, Tyler, Leonard, Landri

LB: Beason, Connor, Anderson, Williams, Norwood

CB: Gamble, Marshall, Munnerlyn, Wilson, Witherspoon

S: Godfrey, Martin, Hudson, Pugh

K: Kasay, Carter

P: Baker

LS: Jansen

PS: Stanford, Pike (if they can), Irvin, Guy, Culberson, Senn, Jackson, perhaps Ivy, probably an o-lineman

If Carter doesn't make it, then pick an LB for his spot.

This is a bit out there, but I'd consider Brayton the guy most likely to be the "surprise cut". He's been a good player, but if they're confident in what they've seen these last 2 weeks (and possibly next week) I don't think I'd be shocked to see him cut and them keep another LB. Probably helps his case that they can move him inside and bring a Brown/Hardy onto the field in passing situations.

Jarrett Had a TD pass had Moore thrown a good ball. Atleast he came close to being open in the endzone.

Drop Davis off of the 53 man roster and add Corey Irvin. 3rd round pick from last year and the kid has looked good when he plays. He will make the team.

Also, Jarrett is not going to make it. No contribution on offense and no contribution on ST's, means that he walks.

Write it down.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
