Why do people drink the kool-aid when somebody has a good showing in pre-season, but when somebody who just looks average gets to use the excuse that its just preseason and come real game time he'll be great?

Am I the only one who has noticed this?

He's talking about Matt Moore, and I agree. Jake's numbers were better than Moore's last year but everyone was talking about how terrible Jake was.

But now, if Moore is 4-11, for 23 yards, that's pretty solid. It's the receivers' fault, yeah, that's it.

There is a reverse as well; when some players start to look bad in the preseason they have always sucked and are going to ruin the team *cough* Moore *cough*.

Some people make excuses on their behalf, others criticize them at every turn. It evens out, either way.

Moore is kinda a exception to the rule because he has always looked bad in Preseason. Actually this is his best preseason yet. Besides Jake didnt have Tommy Jone on his back in the Preseason.

Numbers mean absolutely nothing. You have to watch the game. No one is making excuses for Moore, they're simply observing the horrid play of the WRs.

If Clausen isn't looking great against 2nd and 3rd team DB's(which is to be expected from a rookie) what makes people think he will destroy first team DB's? Its not like our 1st team WR's are any better than our 2nd team WR's.
