it is Fox. it has always been Fox. Others always catch the heat.....but Fox's thumbprint is all over this.

Wish the local media would grow a pair. Media outlets that cover big market teams aren't afraid to call it like it is....Gantt and the Observer grew will pin 75% of this one on Moore, 20% on the secondary, and spread around the remaining 5%. They will as always give Fox a pass.

I'm really supposed to believe Fox would call 3 straight pass plays in the end zone?? I'm really supposed to think he is that retarded? I... just... can't....

Fox is the guy who kept Jake Delhomme in as his starting QB b/c he "gave us the best chance to win"........

That headset Fox wears allows him to make sure Davidson is doing what HE wants.

I know, but it's true. Look at what Henning's done in Miami. If I'm not mistaken, he came from the "Air Coreyell" (sp?) school of coaching. So how did he end up calling draw plays on 3rd and 15 with us?

The reason 3 passes in a row in that situation were called by Fox is b/c simply... It was the sequence that made the least sense, so Fox did it. Same reason that if we're on the 50 yard line on 3rd and 15 we run that draw. Or the Fake FG that's really a punt that gives up a TD. lol

You couldn't be more correct. While the local Charlotte media will continue to take their pillow fight shots at whoever the QB happens to be, the reality is this: Fox dictates his football philosophy and hires coordinators who will carry out that philosophy. Here is the epic fail in his antiquated philosophy- there are no solutions for being behind on the scoreboard and not having a lot of time on his side.

This team under Fox has never been able to come from behind by any margin of note. Sure, the Cardiac Cat days that saw many late 4th quarter wins might be fresh in some memories, but how many of those were the Panthers down by more than 10 points?

But I digress- back to the original point. If the local press were to actually step up and start calling them like we see them they'd probably never get media credentials for the games- a favorite ploy of Jerry Richardson. They wouldn't be allowed in the locker rooms and the players would be directed to keep their mouths shut.

Local media is just scared if they call out Fox/Davidson for the horrific job in 09 and the one they displayed today......that they won't get access and credentials....

they are just intimidated.....reality is the Panthers can't take that stuff away from them. If they did, they could just slam the organziation for it and put it in the papers. Media outlets that cover the big boys aren't afraid to call out the guys making the calls....they do it all the time. If the organization wants to clam up for having the truth spoken about them then the big boys just apply more heat. The organization eventually will cave as it will just make them look too bad to actually act that out.

imo.

I can't wait to see this team under new leadership.

Fox and all his cronies need to go. This team has a lot of talent and has potential to be really good under the right direction.

It seems to me that we do not need a "players" style of coach, but rather a coach that demands more discipline and brings some fire.

    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
