Fox Says: Moore Still the Starter

I say you give the guy another shot before benching him. Fox is as loyal as they come and he isn't going to throw Clausen out there just because one game. Have all of you already forgotten how long it took him to finally bench Delhomme (or get a mysterious injury)?

Trust me, concussion or not, Moore will play this weekend. He isn't an idiot and he knows if Clausen sets foot on the field his dreams of being a starting QB are over ... for good. I am not saying it is right, but it is what will happen. Moore will suit up and play.

They're acting that way because of what they had to endure last season with Delhomme. An entire season being ruined because of an inability to bench a qb is brutal.

Edit: If he can do good in either week 2 or 3, whenever he's cleared to play, all the negativity will be gone and most will be back on the Matt Moore bandwagon.

One game is hardly an endurance test. If it is, then we've got some pretty shizzy fans.

But that's exactly my point. Statistically speaking, one game does not indicate a trend. So why is everyone acting like Moore is a bad QB and ignoring all his quality starts in the past season?

It isn't just one game...he looked like this all preseason as well! Some people, myself included, believe the wins Matt does have in the NFL are somewhat skewed due to the opponents sucking or packing it in (i.e Giants last year). Matt has one quality win under his belt, to me, and that’s the Minn game. Other than that...not so much.

since fox already declared moore with a concussion the NFL rules take the decision making out of the coaches hands....the guy can't even practice right now...

Oh, in what game this preseason did Jimmy throw a touchdown pass?

Moore should be held out if he has a concussion.

Need I remind anyone of this guy?

Jimmy can fill in nicely. Don't rush someone back because your scared of a QB controvery, Moore obsessors.

yeah, that's what we're scared of.

Seriously, stop labeling fans just cause they support their teams players.

Delhomme earned the loyalty by leading us to a SuperBowl and a couple of NFC championship games. What in the hell has Moore done to earn that kind of loyalty? Have a few good games at the end of LAST YEAR(Hint: the keyword is LAST YEAR), cause thats just what that means. LAST YEAR. That doesn't mean anything right now, right now is THIS YEAR. And no, Matt Moore is not an idiot, but right now, he's doesn't look like a competent QB either.

Look, I'm all for Moore if he gives us the best chance to win, but considering he's looked like tee total sheeit the entire preseason and now in Game 1(when the Giants were doing everything they could to try and hand us the ball game), he keeps showing me why he's always been a career backup.

Exactly Moore's hype is overrated by some due to the fact he stepped in and outplayed Jake during his worst days here in Carolina. Same as the fans I remember that still pushed for Jake to start, because he gave us the best chance to win due to his past success is why we still continue to be average at the QB position.

Call it overreacting or whatever but I've not been impressed with Moore at all during preseason or Game 1. He hasn't handled the pressure well at all so far. Guess he needs to throw more int's and continue to look Jake lite before his supporters will fall off his wagon.

One side of me says I want to see what Clausen can do...the other tells me I don't want to see him QB with Fox as our head coach and such a limited playbook. Let Moore play through Foxball and him, Fox, Davidson, & Co. can leave like Peppers did at a much less grand of scale. I'm sure Clausen will play more this year, but seriously I don't want him foiling up into this current system of ours and scarring his potential as our QB of the future. He's young and vulnerable and we can't look to him as our savior just quite yet... because he'll be dealing with the same personel and playcalls as Delhomme, Vinny, Carr & Moore have dealt with.

I don't see anybody hyping up Moore.

But I do see more hype surrounding Clausen.

Nobody here is claiming Moore is the best QB in the league. Nobody is claiming he's going to lead us to the promise land. There are those who know (it's also called common sense), that ya don't bench your starter after 1 game.

Now if the concussion is still lingering, yeah, ya start Clausen, as that is really the only other option.

The ignorance surrounding Clausen is amazing.

Oh, in what game this preseason did Jimmy throw a touchdown pass?

The exact same number as having a center that could actually get him the ball.

Anyone that watched any of the preseason games should have been able to see this coming.

All of the "wait till xxx is back" talk and "preseason means nothing" is just laughable

The same can be said for the ignorance surrounding Moore and the coaching staff...
