Should We Trade Matt Moore to the Jaguars?

Also known by everyone in the NFL: D. Garrard is a proven QB in the NFL. DG is Middle line starter. (not near the top guys and well above the bottom guys). Won't dominate the game, and won't lose the game by himself. JAX isn't about to sell him off for MM. Offer a prospect (Jimmy Clausen), and they might be ready to talk to you.

Moore is still unproven.

I've always thought that Garrard would be the perfect Panther QB. Takes care of the ball, can make you a play from time to time in crucial scenarios, but isn't a prima-donna and can live with a team that runs the ball primarily.

He's fairly proven at this point.....I hate to say

To be clear, I wasn't suggesting we trade for Garrard. Although I like Garrard, IDK what's going on with him, and it seems Del Rio hasn't really been sold on him over the last year or so... I was saying we should trade MM there for whatever we can get, most likely a low-round pick.

And the reason I brought it up was b/c the way Mort reported it, it sounds like the Jags feel like they are stuck with Garrard at this point and that he has digressed. I think he had the best game of his career statistically week 1, but he looked horrible yesterday... That's how McCown got hurt. So I figured MM would at least give them a veteran who has some starting experience and was successful at over a short span... A typical stop-gap guy.

Solid copy there, I misunderstood you. I'm not sure there's an NFL team that would give us a penny for MM at this point. Unfortunately, our QB talent and depth makes our WR talent and depth look quite good, and that's a sad situation. There are probably ~30 teams with more confidence in their QB staff going into next week.

As a Jaguar fan, he sucks. He had one good year when everyone had to be focused on us lighting you up via the ground. We ran for 375 yards against the Colts with Garrard under center. No team was making him beat them. They would load the box and we could still run through them. Yes, Garrard had a good year that season, but who wouldn't? See similarities with Matt Moore at the end of last season and Garrard back then? They won and put up nice stats because NOBODY was gameplanning for them.

See how Matt Moore is doing now? See Garrard now that he has been the man under helm in Jacksonville? When you are just some backup its one thing, when they gameplan to beat you thats another. Jacksonville has no interest in Matt Moore. They are bringing back Todd Bauman or something similar. He was with the team last year and doesn't have a job right now. He knows our system and will be inexpensive.

    • You guys remember when the narrative on here was that Bryce would be chronically injured in the NFL due to his size and Anthony Richardson would be super durable due to his? You remember when the narrative was that Bryce was physically incapable of throwing a ball further than 20 yards in the NFL? You remember “I’ll stop complaining when he throws for more than 200 yards and looks like an NFL quarterback”? You remember when 60 sacks was his fault and not the offensive line, slow WRs, and terrible scheme? Pepperidge Farm remembers. It will always be something for some people. Whatever insanity they come up with will be quickly dropped to move on to the next thing. Bryce could have an MVP Super Bowl winning season and they would complain that we can’t run the tush push with him. It will always be something.
    • For the Panthers fans still low on Bryce and demanding that he be a top-10 QB this upcoming season: What stat(s) will you need to see? Not the vibe you want, but rather what does he need to be top-10 in specifically? Passing yards? Completion percentage? Win-loss record? PFF grades? EPA? CPOE? Asking because this was asked before and... well... it ended up that the folks down on him didn't care about the numbers as much as they cared that they just couldn't get passed his size regardless of how he performed. It would be nice to get a straight-forward answer to that without the usual deflection and redirecting.
