A caller just said this on WFNZ. It's not that bad yet, but he made some interesting points...

- We have an owner who is going cheap

- We have a GM who is very good friends with the owner and will not be fired

- We have a GM who can't evaluate talent (forget the obvious ones: Beason, Kalil, etc. We knew they'd be great. We're talking the other picks and FA signs)

- We fired some of the scouting department making more work for the others

- If things don't get better, free agents WILL NOT want to come here to play

- Why would DeAngelo and Beason want to re-sign here?

They've been back and forth over those points and others, and again, it's not as bad as Detroit. But damn, I sure hope this "youth movement" works. Keep in mind though, just because they're young doesn't mean they'll pan out. You have to have the right young guys to begin with.

Aside from the WR position, I think the ole GM has done a pretty good job concerning talent being drafted. It's not really his fault if that talent isn't put to good use.

...and Hurney can fall on his sword as many times as he wants, but it's clear who is calling the shots on our personnel and it's not him or Fox.
