When will we be good again?

*sigh*

People are overreacting, again.

You guys don't seem to understand that most of the people on the team that are here now, will be here "when we're good again."

How do you know that. With a new coach and staff changes could continue. We assume Hurney will stay but he hasn't signed a contract either. With as many guys on expiring or 1 year contracts, this could be only the first wave.

So your making the assumption right now, that we're going to let most of of our best players go, even though we just cleared enough cap space to reach $70 million dollars.

Lemme guess. You also think Jerry was "JUS1 b3ing Gr3eDy!!" this past offseason..

There's more to having a team than one season. You've got to look at the future.

And even though it sucks to be where we are at now, thanks to some good front office management, we are in position to be really good-really fast.

You know how many teams have said that in the past??? LOL. It only works about a quarter of the times.

Considering the division we're in, anything can happen, and quickly. So far, no team has repeated as division champs since it was created. Teams that have had a good season one year often found themselves bad the next, witness us since the SB year. New Orleans is a different team without Bush, his loss will have a significant impact on them against most teams (maybe not us this year, but most teams). Tampa Bay is a surprise so far, even if Pittsburgh brought them back down to reality Sunday.

We are an extremely young team that should get much better, quite quickly. Special Teams have held up alright so far, we aren't running anything back, but we are covering better. The single biggest mistake made for this year was letting Jake go, and our young QBs are paying for that. I think next year we will surprise some people, if the league resolves the CBA.

    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
