JR is not selling the team

Hey Rayzor, a little less condescention will go a long way ;)

I'm one that thinks it's a great possibility.

He's actually not driving down the value to owners. In fact, it's actually the opposite, a total clean slate with tons of cap room.

but what do I know?

you can know that it doesn't make any sense whatsoever to do something to drive down the purchase value of something you intend to sell.

easy concept to understand.

and selling the team doesn't necessarily mean the team is going to move...

If the team was sold they certainly wouldnt move.

What's the new owner going to do with that big stadium, which is still in the middle of it's life cycle, if he/she moves the team?

And why would the NFL want to leave the Charlotte market anyways? They have been a hit here.

Just because a someone buys a team doesnt mean they can move it where ever they want... the NFL owners as a group decides that.

I never thought he was trying to sell the team, but I do think we was intentionally trying to drive down the value of contracts going into this CBA with some other owners. If the NFLPA files a collusion case against the NFL/owners and there as any evidence that points to this behavior, I'd bet that would take the wind out of the owners argument and force them into a CBA that the players would agree to. I just hope whatever gets agreed to, that it includes a tiered rookie salary.

true and there are at least two (but probably quite a few more) franchises that would get moved before this one. bills and jags are in much bigger danger of getting moved. one poor season by the panthers isn't going to put this team on the chopping block or get it moved.

one bad attendance year isn't going to do it either.

Even when attendance is bad it's like 66k of the 73k tickets are sold.

The NFL loves having a team here. JR was brilliant in his bid to get the team.

I agree, the Jags and Bills are far more likely to be moved than we are.

Ill go you one further.

I challenge any of the multitude who are criticizing the way JR is running the team to step up with examples of the last time they turned an 800 million dollar investment into a 1.2 billion dollar return.

JR had a 200million initial investment which makes it all the more impressive.
