If it's top 16 it will be in spite of him

Don't worry it won't be. They will be lucky to break the top 25. This is going to take another draft or two you get to the top 10.

On paper we look improved. And at this point it should be nearly impossible to be worse than we were last year anyways. But if there's an NFL franchise out there that understands more than most the ultimate insignificance of checking off boxes as improved before actually seeing the results on the field it's the Panthers.

i think a significant portion of our problems last season on the defensive line were due to injury

if not for Derrick Brown's injury this dL would have had a different outcome / end result

Oh absolutely injuries were a killer.

I'm expecting big things from Derrick with the additions we've made.

But I won't listen to any excuses this year for our defensive coordinator. We need results.

To me defensive coaches need to be aggressive and want to dominate their opponent. Blitz and go for it rather than die by degrees and bend until you break prevent type strategies. I hope Evero felt he had no choice but to play that way rather than he played that way by choice. Canales  said they would be discussing the defense including scheme and strategies. No matter who plays out there, the defensive coordinator creates the culture out there every day. Somedays you can win even if outgunned if you play for each other and not for yourself.

    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
