If Fox starts Pike, or he starts Clausen...

What does this say about the one he doesn't pick, since I've read on RotoWorld that supposedly whoever he starts this week will finish out the season?

If he starts Pike, does this mean Clausen will have to settle for being the likely #3 QB next year with the new coach?

If he starts Clausen, do we wave bye to Pike?

Fox hates Clausen more than TRD, PFFL and P55 combined, just about.

I thought Fox hated Pike?

Both have looked poor. Really can't justify starting one over the other.

I mean, I guess it doesn't matter. Clausen has more NFL experience over Pike, but that's not saying much based on how he has played.

Either way, they were both drafted this year. Our QB situation is just awesome.

Dammit.

He looks for excuses not to play Clausen, obviously his stats are good for that but seeing if he can develop is not something Fox is interested in, he doesn't want Clausen to become a decent QB and kick the ass of the team Fox coaches next year. Pike could be a good QB but he is so weak-armed he makes Moore or Clausen look like Favre or Manning. Refer back to the preseason game @PIT for details.

I know there is talk about the "possibility" of starting Pike, but I don't see that happening.

I think they're just trying to keep the Bucs guessing so they can't focus 100% on tape of Clausen. Raheem Morris said in his conf call with reporters that they are watching tape of both Pike and Clausen at the moment, so each minute they spend watching tape of Pike is a minute they don't spend watching tape of Clausen...

    • I do know. They also aren't desperate.
    • I don't know that better options were available at the time. We couldn't poach Big Ten or SEC programs. The Big 12 was not weak enough yet to potentially make a poach there reasonable. Not to mention the big fish(Texass, Texass A&M and Oklahoma) wouldn't likely have come unless we basically handed them over the keys to the entire conference budget. I agree that those moves hurt but I don't think there were better options and sitting still was a worse solution. The financial rewards they all reaped were substantial. They only cry and moan about it now because they say "Oh the Big Ten and SEC are more!" Well, those are also the primary drivers of this insanely rapid inflation that is absolutely unsustainable.
