there's a whole lot of Huddle regulars missing from the boards this year

i was looking at a few threads from this offseason, and from the 2009 regular season, and recognized a whole lot of big name posters that have mysteriously disappearance.

amazing how a poo season sifts all the bandwagoners out of a fanbase... any bets on how many of these guys quietly return when we sign our first major free agent in the spring?

I actually think it's the opposite. Loads of new posters came onto the board after our 12-4 season and generally were not even worth talking to.

Go back a couple of years and we could actually discuss things without it turning into an ego contest or a complete attack against certain posters. Nowadays everyone just flies off the handle at everything, everyone slags off virtually every aspect of the organisation and generally have nothing of worth to contribute to a forum.

I know many left because of the newcomers to the board, so until they leave I doubt we see some of the prominant posters of years past.

I only registered last year, but I was reading back when this was the Panthers Huddle. Not sure if I registered or not - I think I did to mix it up with Eagles trolls.

And just so you know I'm not BSing.... here's my unedited first post from over a year ago saying I was a lurker when this was the Panthers Huddle.

Yep I agree and was thinking the same thing yesterday. It's not accurate to say they all left just becasue of the new people. There have been stupid posters for years, yet they selectively choose this year to leave, bullshit. We are talking about a massive amount of posters, I have noticed myself.

Bandwagoner is damn right. Although there are not so well-known and even some known average posters that I thought wouldn't still be around are, so we are just getting good fans for bad ones, seems like a good deal to me.

In fact I find it more annoying when the Panther's are winning. Then you will truley see all the drama queens and people signing up who really only know panthers are winning and need some poo to talk about at work.

JR purged players along with bandwagoners this year.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
