Coaching Predictions / Choices

The thing I have taken away from reading the boards the past few weeks was that "JR called me last night" thread. Where someone said that Richardson specifically told him that if you looked at how the Panthers drafted in the last 2 years, you would know the direction the team is going.

Well, how have the Panthers Drafted in the last two years? In general I think it be fair to say that we've gone pass heavy. I'd like to see what Heimerdinger could do for us.

given our best player available draft strategy, richardson's statement gives absolutely no information - which is to be expected. no way he tips his hand on who he's after

sorry bro I didnt follow you completely.

Idk, that statement he made seemed to be pretty direct. Im not taking anything out of that more than what I personally read as "The NFL is more pass heavy these days, we're going to start working on that offensively and defensively"

1) *dart thrown backwards to dartboard* jon gruden -offensive minded coach, hyped up, youngish, dynamic, yada yada...pretty much what the FO is going to be looking for.

2) jim harbaugh- he's the jack bauer of coaching. he can get a great coaching staff. total package for a young and rebuilding team.

I'm shocked Rivera has only been mentioned once or twice. He is a leading candidate for a head coaching position.

He's an EXCELLENT coach.

He is also able to adjust to scheme and personal. (was a 4-3 guy, now coaching the #1 defense in san diago (a 3-4).

This guy could be perfect for the Panthers, as he is an excellent coach...players love him, and he isn't a conservative coach as many don't desire.

Him with a strong OC candidate would be perfect for the Panthers IMO.

I wouldn't be upset with Harbaugh either.

Whats the chances of seeing McDaniels here? Not so much as an HC (don't really fancy him as an HC) but as a an OC? Probably would cost more than your average OC but I think hes proved in the past that hes pretty good at creating schemes around the players he has.

I hope never.. I hate that bastard.

McDaniels is another in the list of Belichek spawn failures.

Mangini, Cronnel, Weis et al.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game around when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
