Sherrod Martin fined 40K by the NFL

Getting as bad as NBA officiating.

They won't let guys like Harrison play the game.

Guys like this, MADE the NFL into what it is. Guys like Buckus, and Singletary. Now you want to change it into flag football?

Some of these fines are really, really nitpicking. Most people can tell when a play was meant to happen or not.

I dont think the NFL should be able to fine someone if the ref did not give a PF on the play. Its just not fair to the players the way its set up. So punching a guy in the face is fine as long as your winning but if you hit someone not the Gooddell way its 100,000 out of your paycheck. Yea makes complete since.

Was this the goal line penalty of his? It'd be one thing if what he was doing was done in a menacing or overtly aggressive way, but damn.. How about when Jstew got his concussion a few weeks ago? Yea Stew wasn't a defenseless receiver but that hit was late and aimed directly at his head, just dirty really, and that dude didn't even get a penalty, much less a fine.

They need to make these fines percentage based; guys like Martin can't afford the ridiculous officiating of 2010. And how about priorities as well? A boxing match on the field nets you 25k, while playing the actual game is almost double that? Insane.

    • Blowout incoming and the wheels fall off. Parsons will have multiple sacks, prob a FF. Media immediately starts saying the Bryce era is over
    • It's worth noting that we started playing something that looked like football after going down 17-0 against the Dolphins.  Up to that point we had rushed the ball 3 times and Bryce had two turnovers.   Then we ran it 5 straight times with Rico and he started cracking off some big gains and led to our first touchdown.  Another 37 yards of rushing later, Bryce goes 1 yard complete, incomplete, incomplete to get that field goal before halftime.  Then we committed big time to the run in the second half and played some really nice complimentary football.  The Panthers had stumbled on a formula, and it started with Rico being crazy productive.  Something they only learned because Chubba was injured and Bryce started that game so poorly they were forced to lean on Rico. Fast foward to Dallas, they essentially lean into the same game plan against the Cowboys and I think everyone was surprised by how quickly it started to look complimentary.  In my opinion the productive offense really helped the defense as well.  We played quite solid against a top offense. Finally we make our way to the Jets and Bills, Chubba's return.  You can't say the low scoring affair and return to ineffective football against the Jets was all on Chubba, they were indeed a better defense and so was Buffalo.  But the production difference between the two backs in both games was both visually and statistically obvious.  The bigger picture is the offense took a major step back as well.  They are other moving parts and it's isn't all one thing, BY9>Dalton by a decent margin at this point.   But yeah, Rico's vision and athleticism is just better than Chubba and it jumps at you.
