BH's Round 1 (+Full Panthers) Mock

I just decided to think this with my brain:

If Cleveland takes Hunter, the Giants would obviously take Sanders or trade.  Why?  Abdul Carter would be the third DE (Thib, Burns, and Carter) while they have a need at DT and G and the secondary is a bit suspect.  This is Sanders' best hope of going third--but remember, the Giants have W QBs Wilson and Winston.  Next year's draft at QB is unreal.  So take a guy at #3 or build around Wilson?  Still, you do not take Carter.  I am guessing they trade out or take Graham.

If Cleveland takes Carter to play opposite Garrett, they would be awesome, but they have another W QB, Watson and Kenny Pickett.  Yikes.  Coach Stefanski is not a threat to win Mayor of Cleveland right now, so we shall see how patient they are with him.  A desperate GM and Coach would take Sanders.  If their plan is given an endorsement from the owner, they will trade back.  With Carter on the board, that trade would happen.

If the Browns take Carter, the Giants take Hunter and play him in their weak secondary and give Nabors a friend on offense at times.

Jalon Walker will not be playing inside backer. Even if he was 5’10”. He’s a 3-4 OLB all day.

They are going to use him like Luvu, they play very similarly

I think it just depends on the package. He’ll be moving around but I see usage at both spots - I like him outside in base sets but in nickel, which is bulk, can see him in the middle. Playing around with simulated pressures, spying and blitzing. Having that element while still having perimeter rushers could confuse a lot of mid QBs.

I just don’t think Sanders goes at 2 or 3.  And with how Thib’s career trajectory looks and Burns’ disappointing season, it sounds like an organization that has no problem going with an edge rusher again. Graham doesn’t push the needle for them/isn’t a target. Carter in NY could easily happen.

Heck, KT could be on the block for all we know. Probably a good call if they’re thinking about maximizing assets.

I also don’t see JAX, LVR, NYJ, or anyone else further down trading up for Carter at 3. Takes two to tango. The capital required isn’t worth it.  Even though he’s one of the few blue chips, he’s not generational and worth that type of package.

He has UDFA tape for his 1/2 down plays at ILB. His run fits and instincts are atrocious. I like him as an edge and a move piece on obvious passing downs, but I can’t believe we are this far in with anybody thinking this guy is going to play any traditional inside backer for any significant snaps.

If the Panthers are on the clock and Sanders is in the green room, probably fuming with his daddy, does Pittsburgh call?  (They do not have a second rounder).  Does Cleveland attempt to move back up and grab a QB?  It would cost them 33, 67, 94 and a 2026 second rounder.

Or do you take Jalon Walker?

    • Yeah like I said. Your ball knowledge is bad. You think it’s best to try and clown on one of our guys? If you wanna go play with your lil cheese packer-fan you can. I don’t feel bad for him man. As a fan he has nothing to complain about in comparison. His franchise is where the NFL was born, who the trophy is named after. I can appreciate his loyalty though. Btw how many plays did Parsons make in comparison? Or did Rico run all over them too? sorry just a whole lot more nuance than just saying some dumb 💩 about our rookie DE who is playing well. So is Princely. Also new signing Gipsen. Rozeboom recently and others in being better in run D.   your point about Jacob’s, is just that…Jacob’s doing. Your hyper fixation on my remarks about him being a good run DE, doesn’t change that fact. Scourton also needed more on the pass rushing downs. But I could go on and on. the real question that needs to be fixed though is why as a fan do you feel the need to bash one of our own, and talk through another person to try and do it to someone else?
    • Whew. Okay, now I can enjoy the sad faces of Cowboys fans.
    • Burrow or Bryce? Seriously? 32 out of 32 NFL coaches are taking Burrow. Remember we paid 100m to put Bryce behind a good offensive line. Just because Cincy isn’t managed well doesn’t mean anyone in their right mind is taking Bryce and his 3 years of mediocrity over Burrow’s elite level ability.
