Carolina favored 2.5 against Arizona

While filling out my "Pigskin Pick 'em" bracket on Espn.com today, I noticed that the Panthers are favored 2.5 against the Cardinals. I'm not sure who exactly makes that line, and that whoever it is at ESPN that does tends to favor the home team a greater than usual amount of time, but it still feels kinda good to have someone think we'll win...

That said, this means that if we lose I'll be disappointed for the first time in a while, since I now have some sort of expectation this year.

$18.99 Discount Sports jerseys...

I hate these people.

Anyway, looking further into it, I'm not an ESPN insider, but did get a chuckle that the preview to this article shows that Carolina has an EDGE in the QB matchup.

(Not sure if this link will work, if not you can get to it from the regular game preview: http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/preview?gameId=301219029)

No way, I'm taking Cincy to beat Cleveland and Arizona to kill Carolina.

The Cardinals scored 40-something points last week. And their kicker had 25 of those by himself on 5 FGs, a fake FG TD, PATs. The Cardinals kicker scored more points in one game than the Panthers have in 2 weeks.

Playing the Bronco's who may actually be worse than the Panthers right now, because they appear to having given up, which most of the Panthers haven't. Plus Cards must fly cross country, and their history of east coast games ain't pretty.

He had more points than we've scored all year, lol.

But that was really an exceptional performance, and I think we have a very good chance here of winning...

so here's hoping for a Cincy win! =)

Yeah, I'm thinking we have a decent shot at winning this game. Since Fox has no motives about next year to think about, ie he doesn't care about the Panthers getting the #1 pick nor Luck, he'll just go about his normal bidness. Fortunately, that is usually enough for our team to put up a crappy performance. However, this is the time that his teams usually tend to gel and destroy a few teams' playoff hopes. This weekend could spell then end of the Luck conversations, and begin the DT ones.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
