Cheating

Wow! I love this. You are to be commended for starting this. I try to be a very honorable person. I admire those that have stood up for the right thing, even when it is not pleasant to do so. Anything, not allowable in the rules, should be penalized because it alters the outcome of a game that has rules and order so to make it fair for everyone/team.

Spying or interference of any kind on another team is illegal. I also would say that any altered crowd noise should be penalized too. If your team is good enough to have 70,000 screaming fans, then the 12th player is allowed. If the guy in the box plays amplified noise of any kind, penalize the team.

I've often thought that domed stadiums are a disadvantage to open domed venues. It should be one or the other.

I don't mind if the team bends the rules a bit. Some of that is just part of football, and most other contest.

But blatant out and out cheating such as Alosi? Not only is it dishonest and dishonorable, its also stupid. Did the guy really think that with all the cameras that cover a NFL game that he wouldn't get caught?

If a Panther did this, I would say can his a$$ and disown him completely even if he was an integral part of the team.

If you're cheating, you're not winning, you're cheating. Can't do both.

Funny. I don't think that the Patriots have to give back their Superbowl trophies because they supposedly cheated by filming other teams practices including the one over the Panthers. At the end of the day the record just reflects the wins and losses no matter how they were earned.

Problem is that many times cheaters do prosper. At least in the short term.

If you win by cheating, you've won nothing.

If you lose by being honorable, then you've lost nothing.

The opposite for both is equally true.

Honor aside, longevity is counted in wins and losses not how you got them. In a win or get fired league, the pressure to bend the rules is tremendous.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game around when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
