Discouraged Fan.

I'd rather be a "fairweather" fan that one that has to sulk on the Huddle because people make fun of him for being a Panther fan.

How about you grow a pair and stop being so timid?

this we agree on.. get a chip on your shoulder and talk some poo...

i have at least three coversations a night at the bar where i work with customers laughing at me for being a panthers fan. every time i give them a five minute spiel on how jerry richardson has made a business decision based on the CBA that backfired for this year, but will probably set up the team for long-term sucess with a new coach.

dammit jerry you had better back me up

But back to being a discouraged fan. I swear I am like the only person rooting for the Panthers. I can understand fair weather fans in women, but wtf..even here on the Huddle?

Okay. I am not a fair weather fan but I highly resent you saying this. I can't "grow a pair" because I don't have any but I suggest you grow up before growing yours.

I wear my gear every day, fly a flag in-front of my house and I dare someone to disrespect me.

I have received some "playful" comments, I usually find something to fire back with. Skins fans have no business making fun of anybody. As far as Steelers and Pats "fans" go, ask them if they have a comfortable seat on that bandwagon...

Keep the faith, these are the times when you prove your fanhood.

The same people who are not Panthers fans now, will be when we start winning. Those people however, are not real 'Fans' they're traders.

lol

anyway, this is how this poo goes. when it comes to sport fans, carolinians are the worst. 95% of both the states are shameless bandwagoners, ESPECIALLY when it comes to pro sports. a guy i know is from nyc, but cheers for the patriots :/

its pretty damn pathetic imo, i hope an nfc west team wins the super bowl, because suddenly there will be tons of "rams fans" fuging around claiming "the greatest show on the turf is back", that way, i can laugh in their faces.

I wear my Panther gear all the time, 4 or 5 days a week. People do say things, but now its more sympathy or disbelief. I have the same reply to whatever is said.."If Im not a fan right now, Im not a fan at all." ..and thats how I see it. I was a fan in '96, thier 1st NFCC game, I was a fan in '01, '03 and now, regardless of the team's record. My name is Justin and Im a Carolina Panthers' fan...

I do say something to every person I see wearing Panther gear, there are a few here & there around VaBeach. Most of the time its something like "It takes a set to be wearing that hat/ shirt." They turn around with this look on their face like 'Whoinnafuk?', that is until they see Im wearing the same team..

I am with J2 on this subject. I and mama-San wear our gear proudly. You in the Carolinas are experiencing what us displaced fans go through every year regardless of our record.

I wear Panther gear year round and nobody gives me crap about it. In fact, I have discovered 3 more Panther Fans in town recently because they were wearing hats and jackets.

The fellow fans I congregate on game day with feel the same also. It's easy to be a fan of a winning team but it takes dedication to remain a fan during times like this.

I figure somebody has to take a turn in the NFC South cellar and apparently this year is ours. I see the glass as half full. Some of our division rivals have spent more time in the cellar than we have been a team.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
