IF the Heavens are kind to us and we do get Luck...

To start with hope like hell NO beats Alt. I don't want to play their 2nd string because Fox has gotten a few wins in his down years late in the season when it didn't matter to the other team.

If we get Luck we start him and get a revamped line that will protect him like a new born baby.

It's interesting when you talk about our o-line.

We have been destroyed by injuries this year, most notably Otah. But for the most part the o-line hasn't played well. I was having a debate with one of my friends about this though. I made the argument that if we had Brady or Manning behind center that the o-line would be playing much better than it is. It's almost like they have no faith in Clausen, so why is our o-line going to bust ass for him constantly when even when they do protect perfectly he still gets sacked for holding onto the ball too long or throws a pick. I think with Luck and a new season and attitude our o-line will play a lot better. We have a ton of talent on that line. We have pro bowl players and I think everyone is just going through a tough time this year.

You start him and mold the playbook around his strengths. Don't try and give him 100% of the playbook. The right OC will be able to do this, just as they did with Ryan, Bradford and Flacco (who all had successful rookie seasons and started from Day 1).

I would bring him along slowly.

Go out and get a guy like Kyle Orton to come in here and be the starter next year, and let Luck have some time to adjust to the game and playbook.

Possibly bring luck in during the middle of the season, when playoff hopes are lost.

Let's face it. We are at least two years away from being competitive again. We just have too many problems

Get the biggest baddest MOTHER FCKERS you can, and start luck. You ride Stewart and D Will and pass when you need to. Jesus, anything is better than this. I will be watching other games next weekend, and I will just check the Panthers game.

lol wait what? thats what we did this year but nfl teams kinda have this thing where they force you to pass if you run too much.

Um, no.

We weren't able to run because we can't pass.

It's not easy to run when you've got 8 and 9 in the box.

A strong running game is a rookie QB's best friend, and whether some people wanna believe it or not, drafting Luck isn't going to automatically give us some elite passing game.

We'll be a run first team next season, guaranteed. Even if only to help the rookie.

Now Mel Kiper is saying Andrew Luck may "fall" on draft day because we have Jimmy Clausen. WTF?! I hate Mel Kiper. Don't let Luck read any of that drivel.

I would hope that we'd start him... get healthy on the OL (maybe bolster the line with the draft) and spend some dough on a D-Line FA during the offseason. Basically, we just need to get healthy... and with Andrew Luck, we could be pretty darn good.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
