As much as i dont like jimmy...i think you gotta go defense in the draft

Given we don't know the coach, the scheme of the offense or defense and the draft is 4 months away, to say you know what Luck would or won't have is extremely premature. We don't even know who will be resigned or let go at this point.

As for thinking a defender is more valuable than a franchise quarterback for the long term, you seem way out in left field.

allright....allright...i gotta go but look at our GM......:puke: out all of our talent and vet leader ship to save money...to sign who..to get what...fug a lock out...you dont GM scared...i just dont think we got ballz behind what we're doing...no homo

Lets see if 2010 was an aberration or sign of the future. I was hoping it was a dream sequence and I would wake up. But right now it looks more like the Nightmare on Mint Street.

Franchise QBs and good QBs are two different things
i was using that word the way most interpret it.

elite would have been better. franchise is more the face of the franchise after several years of play like jake was here (just a little embarrassing, btw).

This is the DUMBEST premise I have ever heard. Why the HELL do you people think that ONE defensive lineman is more valuable than a freaking franchise QB? Get your head out of your rectum and realize that #1 picks don't come around often and when the CONSENSUS best player available is QB then you freakin take that player. Unless you have a top 10-15 QB that you think can lead you to the super bowl then you take the quarterback.

Jimmy Clausen is THE WORST QB IN THE LEAGUE. He has a 56 QB rating and has thrown 2 TDs all year. He looks like a scared toddler looking for his mommy as he jacks around in the pocket.

Get off the DL kick PLEASE you sound like a moron.

I agree on drafting a defensive linemen but only if Luck stays. Should Luck Stay I think we should trade down and try to get as many picks as possible. I would like to see us get Dareus or Fairley. I think we could trade down enough to get both. I also wouldn't mind getting Patterson but I think there are enough great Cbs in the draft so we could get a few in the late rounds. Also what about the DTs from UNC? I know one was supposed to be a top 5 pick but with all the drama could they be picked up in latter rounds? I mean the past drafts have shown NFL teams do not want players that have been in trouble in the past.

What part of WORST offense in the NFL don't you understand? Why on earth do we go defense when we can fill that void in FA or in the later rounds of the draft? Even if Luck doesnt' come out, I would much prefer we pick up a successor to Steve Smith, when I think of one, AJ Green comes to mind.

I understand that but I don't think AJ Green will turn our offense around. We still have Clausen. Our main problem on Offense is the QB. Our Rookie WR have showed some potential and we still have Steve Smith who could make a difference with a new qb. I would rather us fix the problem on offense in free Agency which we will have plenty of cap room to sign a few good players.

Otah has greatly been missed and should improve the Offensive line, our Run game is good even if Williams leaves and Sure we need some speed at WR but I think Smith can still produce and Edwards still has a chance to be Smiths replacement. I honestly believe that Smiths lack of production is because he doesn't want to play good for a team built to loose and he wants Matt Moore (who he was in love with last year) to throw him the ball not Clausen who he hates.

i think we go for the top DT in the draft Auburn tackle Nick Fairley...hopefully there will be a rookie cap and pay scale so no hold out get him in the camp early and we can have a Suh on our hands....but also if we remain a 4-3 a trade of smith for a DT prospect will sure up the line ...therefore we will have Johnson,Fairley, insert DT,Hardy...with Brown on passing downs...id kept brayton for insurance or got get a another veteran body in there

So bypass the worst part of the team and instead use the top pick in the draft to build an area that's already better than the offense and has better prospects in free agency?

Eeeeeehhhh...no :frown2:

Sorry, if you have one of the worst offenses in NFL history you don't draft defense with the 1st pick. The only defensive player in the draft that is elite and truly worth the #1 overall pick is Patrick Peterson, who I wouldn't mind, but the pick has to be Luck.

There are three perennial pro bowl players in this draft: Andrew Luck, AJ Green and Patrick Peterson. To have the #1 pick and wiff on all 3 would set this franchise back another 3 years. No DT in this draft would have an impact on our team like one of those three players would.
