Am I naive or do others think we have the talent for a quick turn around?

We have a beast of running game if they are all healthy and retained....

Our O-line is very good if healthy

Our Secondary is good

Our LB core is the strength of the team if healthy

The areas needing focus in my mind are D-line and WR the most.... With the addition of a top flight QB, people staying healthy and an energized coach I don't see this as a long and drawn out rebuilding mode

Im right there with you! As long as we get a competent QB (hopefully Luck) and get some quality DT's in FA and some Oline depth and maybe get lucky with a good RG in the draft I think we can bounce back quickly. Then again I thought Matt Moore was going to tear it up this year.........

The Panthers can draft 4 Lucks at different positions and still have issues, if you catch my meaning.

A franchise QB is an absolute for this team. And, not to be undervalued, a veteran backup QB is almost as important. The Panthers may have been able to survive just a little better if there was a veteran somewhere on the roster at the QB spot.

Look at the other teams in the league. When the QB comes off the field he's met by the OC or QB coach, they sit and go over pictures, play calls and discuss previous plays and what happened. When Jimmy Clausen came off the field this season he went to the bench and sat alone. I can't remember him being coached up on the sideline during any of the 7 home games I attended this season.

It depends on if we can find the quarterback and fix the right side of the line. It may also depend on how many miracles Meeks worked with this defensive line. I'm not sure that some of our defensive talent is as good as it played this year. I think with a couple right moves .500 or there abouts is attainable next year.

It is sooooo very hard for me to judge the talent that we have on O because of Davidson and Fox's inability to put our players in a position to show off their talent. So I am not sure what we really have at the WR, TE, and I am totally lost on the QB.

As for the D, we have some major holes at CB, and we really can't rush the passer all that well, nor provide push up the middle. If a QB comes in, and plays really really well for a rookie, I think that we may get to 6 or 7 wins next season.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
