This Seasons Injuries...

I was wanting to ask the people hear about the seasons injuries.

Do you think Injuries played a major role in our 2-14 season or do you believe our team is just that bad? I know the Packers had a crap load of players on IR (16 I believe) but still made the playoffs by one game. The Steelers also had a crap load of injuries on the line but ended up being the #2 team in the AFC. The Colts had a good amount of injuries and barely won the division, Probably one of the worst seasons the Colts had in ten years.

I don't know if I am the only one that believes our team can go from worst to first in one year but I do believe that Injuries really destroyed our season. Now I am not trying to say that if we was healthy we would have made the playoffs.

However I can't help but wonder if Otah was healthy what our season would have been like. First of all Matt Moore went out in game two. If we had Otah our line would have been a whole lot better, Moore would probably played better and not got injured in game 2 and we probably could of had a .500 season. Considering the fact our schedule and the Bucs had a winning schedule without beating a winning team that is.

I believe our O-line has had some successful experience together last year and loosing Otah really messed with the chemistry. With Otah gone our line had to find new chemistry, it took time for it to develop and with Wharton only playing 9 games (I can't help but wonder if Wharton played a game 100%. ) Our O line only had two players start all 16 games, and they are going to the Probowl. Next year hopefully Otah will be healthy. I feel like many including our new coach Ron Rivera that our offensive line is great but in order for it to work properly it must have all the right parts working 100%.

Another one of our talented positions also took a hit with injuries. I also believe our linebacker group is one of the best in the NFL. Thomas Davis went out early, Dan Connor also went out after week 9. It seemed that we had a new starting linebacker every week, yet our defense week in and week out continued to play decent considering the fact they were on the field for long amounts of time because of our offense.

Last but defiantly not least our Run game took a big loss after our first win of the season. Double Trouble disbanded after the week six injury of Deangelo Williams. Stewart eventually stepped it up and Goodson showed us he can play. However our run game wasn't on the level it would have been when healthy.

With a fresh start next year do you see our team if healthy do you think we can be another worst to first team? I am also assuming that we resign our linebackers and Williams. We have enough Cap room to re-sign everyone and still be big spenders in free agency.

I know we are going to the NFL draft with the #1 pick (Worst record in NFL) but am I the only fan here that believes our team is talented enough to win next season? I know we are rebuilding but why take years to win when we can rebuild and win now?

winner winner, rep for dinner

yes! :D

You mention Steelers, Packers, and Colts. All three have an established, top flight QB. I think with that all-important cornerstone, the injury storm can be weathered.

no one had it worse than the Packers, and the Colts a close 2nd..

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
