Pick Bowers Please Please Please Please!!!!

What exactly did Bowers do before this past year? I think Robert Quinn will be a better DE in the league. Once the combine starts and Quinn dominates everything, he will climb the boards quick (may not be number 1, but better than Bowers). Fairley fits a bigger need right now.

before this season he was a true freshman and a banged up sophomore. If you watched him play and not just look at this stat sheet.....he has always been beastly. What did Andrew Luck do prior to this season?

I think Fairley stock drops after the combine personally. Bowers and Peterson probably get a bump after the combine.

Exactly..... I don't think Fairley is going to be a bust' date=' but the disparity in talent between Fairley and other DT's that could be taken in the second and third rounds is much less then the disparity between Peterson/Aku and the other CB's in the draft or Green and the other WRs......[/quote']

I would agree IF we had our damn 2nd round pick back.

We could move into the second. I would rather not get raped in a trade again so I would just like to stay put in the third, but there are players that will be available outside of the first that can be as good as Fairley....

I don't know many DTs that have won superbowls for their respective teams. We should be able to pick up a couple solid DTs in the 3rd round.. this is the deepest DT draft I have seen in a long time. Not much disparity between a 1st and 3rd round DT in this years draft.

I agree with the op 100%. I mean think about it. With either of those two we would have the most dominant defense in the NFL... that will still be rank around 25th or lower because they will be on the field 70% of the time due to the fact our offense can't stay on the field. I mean we went 2-14 last year with a top ten defense per possesion even with several injuries to key players so let's build up that defense because that was clearly the problem. With that dominant defense who knows? Maybe we can improve to 3-13 next year!!!!! Yay!!!!!

OMG I want Cam Newton soooo bad!!!! I want a qb with 0 mechanics, 1 good year in college, and could probably slip to the 2nd round like Clausen, but please take him number 1!!!!

PLEASE GIVE me DT who doesnt play at pad level, lacks strength, and would cost as much as the extension the Raiders gave Terrel Sands with about the same skill level.

Oh sweet Jesus give me a WR named AJ Green when we aleady have Smith, Gettis and Leffell who had great rookie seasons...

Bowers gives us options, we can even slide CJ inside at times and have Bowers next to him with Hardy on the other side...(Giants of old) FA is where we can get some extra meat to fill the middle.

And Peterson gives us Charles Woodson plain and simple.

im not one to talk junk in a forum too much, but man chill out some, we all understand where you stand on this..no need to open another thread, simmer down. its getting irritating.. there are no new thoughts, that anyone will have at this point, that has not already been discussed over and over. you dont have a Magic 8 ball that will tell you who is a bust or not, and there is a risk with everyone. no need for all this.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
