If you really want to compare Cam to another black QB, what about Randall Cunningham? I know for a fact that those NFC East defenses hated playing against that guy, and back then, that was the strongest division in football and was well known for great defenses. I hated Cunningham because I was a Redskins fan back then, but I could certainly respect what he did.

How about comparing him to Josh Freeman?

This is who we should be comparing Cam to!!

I think coming out of College Cam has better physical tools than Josh.

I think in terms of making NFL throws it may be a wash.... They both have/had the tools to make all the NFL throws.

In terms of systems and experience it goes to Freeman. Freeman had over 1100 attempts passing in Div 1 football and took snaps from both under center and shotgun. That's way more than Cam's 280, and he had more expereince with different formations, reads, schemes, ect.

Both commitment to the game is/was questioned, but I believe like Freeman that will go away for Cam as thr process goes on. I think both have good intangibles.

Why the hell not? People were already comparing Andrew Luck to Peyton Manning, even though he hasn't proven anything in the NFL yet.

That's my point they can never compare Cam to a successful (preferably black)QB. Cause they have Jamarcus stuck in their head.

got it. he fits the profile so it's his destiny. effect of being narrow minded.

btw...i'm so glad we got rid of the narrow minded guy that was coaching this team for 9 years. had too much of an effect on many fans and got them to think as smally he did and be as risk adverse as he was.

      So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.

      All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
