"If it were up to me to fix the QB spot, I would..."

Get Cam Newton and quit f*cking around. I would get Luck maybe if he was available. But I think Newton is a special player that doesn't come around too often. Kinda like in terms of basketball Magic Johnson in the position he played, and if his (Newton) career comes even close to what Magic's was, I wouldn't give a f*ck about Luck, Clausen, or anybody else. Dude is going to light it up, I just have that feeling...

I would draft Cam Newton one overall, sign Volek or Palmer, and go into camp with Newton, Clausen, Volek. Pike most likely to the practice squad.

If Newton blows up the combine as I expect he will, his deep ball ability and accuracy coupled with Gettis and LaFell and a FA TE (M. Lewis) has be salivating at the mouth already.

I would draft Newton and get a veteran fA that is capible of starting next year while acting as a mentor to our young qbs.Voleck comes to mind.If Newton blows up make him a tight end.

Lets be real we are not going to be a contender next year so lets get the rebuilding thing right:cheers2:

Sit down with Cam Newton and test his football IQ with some scheme talk, film etc. Do all the homework you can on him and take him if you deem him smart enough.

If not, resign just resign Moore, maybe someone like Volek and actually give those guys a chance this with an actual scheme.

Trade down if I could. If not, get the BPA that's not a QB to address other needs on the team. Bring in Moore and/or a FA to compete with Clausen for the starting job. If, however, our new coaching staff believes that Newton or another QB in the draft is the answer, I support their decision.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
