So what are we going to do? Trade Legette? Even if Legette is two, we don’t need another 6’4 go ball specialist. We had the Twin Towers experiment and experience, it didn’t end well.

If anything, you would trade down and use the additional picks to trade back up to take Golden.

Gotta get it outta your brain that all tall WR are Devin Funchess.

T-Mac is the best prospect of the 4 by a good margin.

Dude he absolutely was not.

He absolutely was.  He had a monster so season at florida st and fell do us because of a supposed crappy 40.

Tet - 6.40 grade

KB - 6.8 grade

I think the knee injury really got to KB

Funny enough both of their scouting reports are pretty similar, oh and that 6.4 grade would have been (checks notes) tied for 6th best last draft

Benjamin was a higher graded prospect

The only place you’ll find that being the case is in the NFL draft profiles on NFL.com, which are laughably useless (go check out the profiles for Aaron Donald, LaQuan Treadwell, Greg Robinson, or Isiah Wilson)

From what I remember him being a low first round type of prospect was pretty consensus as his measurable were great but we was raw as poo, pretty stiff, and body caught a lot. TMAC was consistently in the top half of mocks with a lot of top ten buzz prior, there was only really any talk of him falling lower this last month or so, which I think was mostly prospect fatigue.

Happy to be proven wrong though.

Profiles on NFL.com are far from the draft community and NFL consensus

I mean cool, nobody is perfect and they clearly werent about KB, although I think the knee messed him up, simply pointing out he was the higher ranked prospect.  I would think they get it right far more then wrong though. It is however impossible to know but like PFF or whatever its a grade given based on metrics.

Part of my point was the only place I remember him being a “higher prospect” is NFL.com. But, as a huge draft junkie since 2008, I just recall the general sentiments around KB being much lower than TMAC. For instance, Walterfootball had KB going in the second round to Baltimore back in 2014 but TMAC going 12 to Dallas.  NFL prospect profiles is the only place I can find being higher on KB, but it’s also over a decade ago so who knows.

To be fair the quality of recievers was much better in that draft.

Oh for sure, he would’ve been below Watkins, OBJ and Mike Evans and probably Marquis Lee as a prospect but I think he would be above KB.

Take note folks, this is how you respond. Humor. Well said and I have done at least worse if not far worse on predictions.

hey, I still haven't been wrong about them drafting a Gamecock!  That was my first prediction this week therefore it must be the best and one that should carry the most weight showing my prediction brilliance!

They will draft a Gamecock. Burch counts.  I'm going to count the UDFAs as well as they were in the draft in theory.  Also I am in including kids that played them or watched a game.  Or ate chicken.   If I hit on that, please note that as well.  Can't just pay attention to the Ls.

Weighing more is more stress on joints.  Was 240 the lightest he ever was in the NFL?  I'd bet he was 245 by the time the season started.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
