I HATE the way RBA manages goalies in the playoffs.

Pyotr should have been in goal for this game. Not a slight against Freddie (he played great) but why not take advantage of the long break between Games 2 and 3 and put Pyotr in net for a game that doesn’t matter?

Freddie has been an animal, probably wanted to keep him hot and then rest Freddie in game 4.

Now, we have to start Kochetkov, cold, with an exhausted defense in front of him in a possible series tying game.

No you don't lol we aren't playing back to backs here bud, guarantee you Kochetkov isn't playing in game #4

I guarantee you Freddie will be back in net for game four.... these aren't back to backs, Freddie Played lights out.

Anderson and Markstrom are the same age I bet you Devils fans aren't worried about 'resting" him.

Good idea. Let’s ride the dude that had knee surgery 6 months ago instead of looking for opportunities to work in some rest in the post season.

LOL yep rods totally gonna throw the guy with a .812 % and 4 gaa over the last month and a half in a potentially series tying game 🤣

Let's see who Rod sides with history is on my side.

Of course he’s going to start him. That’s the point. He’s going to ride Freddie into the ground instead of taking obvious opportunities to rest him when he could have started Pyotr in a meaningless game 3 and then it’s a fresher Freddie in a potentially series tying game.

I think your reading comprehension is lacking.

Looks like you were wrong

I didn’t mean this game, I meant the series. There is no way their defencemen can keep up. No way.

No but you're not playing to win the round 1 championship. It's hard to let one goalie run the whole post season if you're not blanking series. This is now a 5 game series minimum and he just played into two OTs while facing a ton of pressure. You rest your goalie so he doesn't burn the hell out.

If we don't rest Freddie and lose, we're crushing his confidence, wearing him out and THEN playing koochie even further from his last start.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
