Getting annihilated in the final four 3x and choking away leads in elimination games certainly does!

they are the defending champs for a reason. would you be upset getting beaten up by the chiefs or eagles in the championship game? if teams like that were easy to build, everyone would have one.

It’s this all day. It was fantastic year where we overachieved.  Let’s see what Rod does with what Tulsky brings in.  I mean we had 4 rookies playing in the ECF. And those rookies are going to be awesome. The future is bright.  Seriously, I didn’t think we would make to playoffs much less win two rounds. Time to look forward.

pANTHERS are very good...maybe the best...winners earn credit...losers blame anyone anything always

Yep. A ton a bitching and moaning going on. It was a great year.  I guarantee you no is more sad and disappointed than the team. Once arm chair people settle down, they will see how great of a year it was.

The Canes do have one i was there when they won it. Lol

It doesnt matter who you play. This team has choked away a lot of key games under Rod the dud

The team had a great season all things considered and definitely overachieved.  I don't think many of us had our expectation level set at deep playoff run after the 2nd Rantanen trade.

With the current league format, someone has to come out of the Metropolitan division.  Look at the teams we have to climb over to get to the ECF.  It's not exactly a division that's full of contenders.  Smack around the Islanders and the Devils and now you're in the ECF against the survivor from the better division.

Everyone making excuses when the 2023-24 team had the talent to go all the way and the same results happened. What are we supposed to do? Bring in more superstars who dont fit Rod's system because of the fact that they are superstars? The amount of copium is beyond normal levels.

Is this thread real?

I can tell this is a bunch of Carolina Panther fans that are late comers to the Canes.

The only reason we even made it this far this year is the coaching.  We have 30 million in cap, two 1st round picks this coming year and just went to the ECF for the 3rd time in 7 years as a small market franchise.

We also have Jarvis, Aho, Svech, and Slavin long term.

We are in a fantastic position and overachieved in a "rebuilding" year.  Canes just need to keep injecting talent and we will breakthrough.

I wish the Carolina Panthers made it in the NFC Championship game in a rebuilding year with two first rounders and the most cap room in the NFL in the upcoming year.

I don't get the overachieved thing, start of the season the Canes were 10th odds for winning the cup. After the second Mikko trade they were top 3 to win the Cup.

The only ones spewing that crap were the coaches themselves trying to soften an underperfmance

Rods not going anywhere nor should he. The Canes do need a good power play coach.

Several players need to retire or go and be replaced with younger or better players. Thanks to Burns, Orlov, Staal, but they should retire. KK needs to go elsewhere he might be a better fit, we need a legit 2C. The GM needs to make selections that are a good fit for the Canes- no more Rantanen mistakes.  Lots of cap space to improve this team.

Unfortunately I doubt that will happen. Coaching will stay the same. Big money stars will not want to come here. We will do well during the season and flame out during the playoffs when we meet a team that can overcome Rods system. We are the Bills of the NHL. We are the "This is fine" meme of the NHL.

    • With Schoen and Dan Morgan being tight I’d figure we knew this was coming and since he is released, Dan didn’t bite.    But, a quick search says this is at least 80% cap related. They have No cap space and save 8 or 9 million with releasing him.  He has been a captain his entire time there. 145 tackles this year.  They are picking 5th with a new staff and looking at Styles. Hitting that age 30 season and had a disc issue last year (meaning 2024) that did not require surgery.  I haven’t really watched him play but he activated the antennae.
    • OK, we are letting our top RB go.  We have Chuba, Etienne, and Brooks.  Imagine a player who could LEGITIMATELY play the slot and back up at RB?  I am sure he'd be a special team player as well.  I noticed him at the combine, and thought, "Here is a late rounder who could stand out as a slot and provide depth at RB. Without further ado....(I know one Huddler who might be able to tell us more about this guy): Navy running back/wide receiver Eli Heidenreich headlined the 2026 NFL Combine for the Midshipmen, running an official 4.44-second 40-yard dash and recording 16 reps on the bench press. Recognized as a versatile, "Swiss army knife" offensive weapon, Heidenreich solidified his draft stock as a potential day three target.    Eli Heidenreich (RB/WR - Navy) 2026 Combine Performance: 6'0" 200 lbs.   40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds. 10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds. Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches. Broad Jump: 10' 0". Bench Press: 16 Reps. Highlights: Showcased as a premier receiving threat from the backfield, having left Navy as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (1,994). High character.  Smart.  Maybe, just maybe....
