"Late surge from Bryce Young was biggest leap any NFL QB has taken in 25 years"

“The most encouraging part of Young’s performance was what we see under the hood,” explained Clawson. “He wasn’t dinking and dunking his way down the field. He had the fourth-longest average throw length (9.5 yards downfield) in the final three weeks, coupled with the sixth-lowest off-target rate (8.0 percent). Only 30 percent of his passing yards came from YAC in this stretch, the lowest rate in the NFL among quarterbacks to start the final three games. So don’t confuse the zero turnovers for not taking risks.”

starts at 18 minutes in, sharp drops some stats that stun mac and bone

In his last 4 games he had the easiest passing schedule in the NFL.

For the year Bryce was Ranked 41 out of 46 qualified qbs in accuracy, 30th in epa, 37th ypa, 39th success rate. Bryce in 28 starts has only lead at halftime 5 times.

Not sure what cherry picking 3 games is going to accomplish.

That’s a fair point. He definitely benefited from facing softer defenses in the latter half of the season.

Still, I think it’s impressive how much progress he made. Going from a UFL type backup to a competent starter, even against easier competition, is no small feat. Does bring into context why it was historical, as his prior play was that putrid, but still a good leap nonetheless.

That said, the real test will be whether he can maintain consistency and solid play over a full season. If we’re going to see any meaningful return on our trade-up investment, he’ll need to prove it wasn’t just a late-season flash. We’ll find out soon enough whether it was a fluke or the beginning of something special.

    • Gonna be interesting to watch. All reporting indicates he's gonna be out. From what I'm hearing he's out. The interesting part will be what happens next. The job has been staying within the "family" since Dean retired. But there's no one within the family that makes any sense at all right now. They'll have to go outside the family to hire a coach that's likely to be successful and tension between the school and the basketball family is already high right now with this plot to move the arena to Carolina North because the folks within the basketball family want it to stay at the Dean Dome and they feel misled because they feel like there was never any real consideration of revamping the Dean Dome and this whole evaluation process was just meant to make it look like that was being considered. The best outcome here IMO is that we hire a great coach from outside the family and we revamp the Dean Dome as an olive branch to the family. But the powers that be REALLY want a new arena at Carolina North.
    • yeah outside of 3 shots in a row for arsenal nothing has happened.  I need a quick goal for them and then MC start to press.  Need 2 shots for Arsenal and all 4 still for MC
