Dude, we have more than one guy to stop the run. Have you really researched our free agent acquisitions (much less the rookies)? I don't expect that to be a big issue this season, with or without DB.

I think you heavily underestimate the value DB brings.  He set an NFL record for tackles by a DT in 23'.

I don't see how you are saying I am painting him any sort of way.  I told you my gut feeling, based on nothing, and provided a quick AI overview seemingly garnered from public opinion backing that up.

Here's a more in depth look.

Public Spats:
Parsons has been involved in public disagreements with former teammates, media members, and even the Cowboys' owner, Jerry Jones.

Perceived Selfishness:
Some have criticized his focus on individual accolades over team success, with one former player calling him the "most selfish player" on the team according to a Yardbarker article.

And yet, the players are on his side according to Rapsheet. There are always more than side to a story.

Do you hear this type of stuff being said about DB?  Parsons has the diva aura.  I stay away from that type of player.

A lot of players would say something positive rather than deal with the heat.  Especially if they want him out.

I feel when players are outspoken about how selfish you are, knowing it will be reported, that is very telling.

That's exactly what I was thinking, but people are telling me that it's a whole bunch.

I mean, arguably the greatest pass rusher in the NFL currently for a 3rd and Derrick Brown??? That's very one sided, IMO.

Yes, Parsons does get injured a lot, so there is that. But Brown, although very good, is not a significant impact in the pass rush. He definitely could end up being that at some point but he absolutely has not been that so far.

Parsons is easily worth DB and a 3rd.

It was an ex-Cowboy, THE Jesse Holley, that made that statement. Come on, man.

Different position, different focus.  DB swallows the run.  90 PFF grade and NFL record in tackles for the position.

We were gouged without him last year.

Parsons is still young, so the "one piece away" argument isn't really potent to me. People usually say that when they don't want to pay a vet who's five years older.

The fact that Parsons is just entering his prime kinda makes having him worth it. If Parsons isn't worth it, I don't know who is. Like I said (if he actually ends up on the market), he willing suitors, with loads of cash, will not be a problem for him.

Parsons is 26 Derrick Brown is 27. Neither of them are that young. But they are both in their prime no doubt.

If we didn't pass on him and Parsons were already here we could be having a different conversation or we could be having the same conversation as the Cowboys. It's all speculation. But we had our chance if we wanted him.

I don't think there is a single GM in the NFL who wouldn't make that trade, if given the option.

DB is a very good player. Parsons is tracking towards a HOF career.

    • My projection. I think at WR its time to go with youth. This means Moore should be the odd man out. Horn can return both punts and kicks and Tremayne is a better WR than Moore. XL gets one more year to prove himself, although I could see a trade in the future which would mean Moore could stay. For OL, I would like us to bring back Brady if we can. The RBs, Trevor can return both punts and kicks too. With the uncertainty of Brooks and Dillon, its hard to choose either one. I think the team would like for Brooks to have a breakout season to clear any uncertainty that he deserves a spot. For now, I have them both even and on the team. DL looks solid as well as OLB. Watch out for the UDFA of Aaron Hall and Isaiah Smith at OLB. They look promising and could knock someone off the team. ILB is still the biggest weakness on the team. We need to upgrade that any means necessary. CB is strong and Im praying to all the Gods that Wheatley beats out Scott at FS.  OFFENSE: WR: Tetairoa McMillan - *Chris Brazzell II* - Brycen Tremayne TE: Tommy Tremble - James Mitchell LT: #Rasheed Walker# - *Monroe Freeling* LG: Damien Lewis C- #Luke Fortner# - *Sam Hecht* RG: Robert Hunt - #Saahdiq Charles# RT: Taylor Moton - #Stone Forsythe# TE: Ja`Tavion Sanders - Mitchell Evans WR: Xavier Legette - Jalen Coker - Jimmy Horn Jr. QB: Bryce Young - #Kenny Pickett# RB: Chuba Hubbard - Trevor Etienne - #AJ Dillon# - Jonathon Brooks DEFENSE: LE: Tershawn Wharton - Bobby Brown III  NT: *Lee Hunter* - Cam Jackson RE: Derrick Brown - LaBryan Ray LOLB: Nic Scourton - Patrick Jones II  LILB: Trevin Wallace - Bam Martin-Scott - *Jackson Kuwatch* RILB: #Devin Lloyd# - Claudin Cherrelus  ROLB: #Jaelen Phillips# - Princely Umanmielen LCB: Jaycee Horn - Akayleb Evans RCB: Mike Jackson - *Will Lee III* - Chau Smith-Wade SS: Tre`von Moehrig - Lathan Ransom FS:  Nick Scott - *Zakee Wheatley* - Demani Richardson  SPECIAL TEAMS: K/KO: Ryan Fitzgerald P/H: Sam Martin KR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. PR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. LS: J.J. • His contract is guaranteed.  Legette is just not where he needs to be mentally.  Not fully invested, it seems.
    • Literally like Hill. He's not QB1 material (now or ever), but if we can turn him into a H-back and use him like  Swiss army knife, that's his ticket to make the roster.  H-back/emergency QB.  I wonder how good his hands are?  If they are at least above average by NFL standards then we can line him up in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide and of course, in the Wildcat.
