Panthers make a change at LB

Looks to be decent depth. He had 80 tackles and a sack each when he started 23 out of 29 games in his first 2 years for Green Bay. Even as a backup for Arizona, his numbers arent terrible. He started 6 games out of 16 in 2023 and had 55 tackles. Didnt start any last year but still recorded a couple sacks.

You need bodies to get through camp. There's at least one of not two significant contributors at LB for us this coming season that are currently in other camps.

And we are very upset about it lol

We are not known for our patience around here.  They are OUR LBs and we want them NOW.  (that JG Wentworth commercial lives rent free in my head.)

Just accept LB is almost certainly going to be a weak spot for us this year. I'm just hoping that improved DL play with the additions and getting DB back will help make up for it. It was so bad last year because of the double whammy of being really weak at both DL and LB. If you're weak at both you're cooked. No way around it

I understand it.  It is just that time of year.  We have always been historically above average at linebacker, so this one is an abnormally large pill to swallow.  Everyone has a weakness.  Just unusual for ours to be LB.

I am actually more enthusiastic about this roster and front office than I have been in a very long time.  When was the last time we talked about WR being a strength?  That alone is exciting.

And how has that worked out for us overall? A big part of our historic roster building issues has been way over spending both in draft capital and cap space on LBs and RBs while most of the rest of the league was focusing on QBs, WRs, CBs, and linemen.

I'm not saying it is smart...I am saying it is the disease of nostalgia.  I much prefer this approach.

I may change my tune if we are garbage on the field...but we can't be, right?

I like how he kept locating the ball carrier in these highlights and didnt let blockers distract him from seeing the ball carrier as well.

That seems to be a common theme, but it makes sense.  Dan Morgan was a high volume guy.  Liked to be in on the action.
