Everything revolves around Bryce This Year

If we bring in a top 10 QB Bryce is pretty much done.
No potentially take over. Bryce will be his backup.

I mean, Clausen stayed but he wasn't a former top pick.  Fields, Wilson, Lance, Pickett, Rosen, Haskins, etc.  Not sure any top pick can really can stay once a team moves on to the next top pick.  Gotta to think Bryce would be shipped off.

There are only 3 options going into 2026 for Bryce and the panthers

1. Pick up the 5th and go from there

2.Extend him

3. Trade him and draft his replacement

Year 3 is absolutely make or break for him in regards to his career with the panthers.  And for the record I hope he balls out.   Starting again with a rookie qb would just be a ruthless cycle and basically starting from square 1.......again

I saw the Panthers post some stories on instagram during training camp about a Make a Wish kid who wanted to be a quarterback. Bryce had him in the huddle with him and I legitimately had a moment where I wasn't sure who was who. Bryce really is a small person to be in the NFL.

decent odds the present cycle continues.   Where you might not draft the QB and go the random available vet route like we tried in the Teddy or Darnold/Baker route.   We most certainly can't afford to move up in a draft go get "our guy".   The roster is still paying the price for that type move last time.

Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.

Yeah but at least that QB would be not short.
I keep going back to the fact other than Wilson no other short QB has ever won a Super Bowl. The success rate of short QBs is very, very low. Like count on one hand low.
Yeah some people would include Brees too but I don’t consider a 6 foot tall QB short, imo.

Young needs to be the reason they win vs they reason  they lose …starting in Jacksonville

thats what rd 1 qbs are supposed to do

…also cant continually cut down the playbook to cover for  his  short comings

for the franchise, this opening game against Jacksonville is huge

They need to win it

should they lose, i don't think anyone is   up for hearing:

‘it is a long season’

‘We  will go back to work’

’they did some good things but didn't finish’

‘Im sure, insert player’s  name’ would like to have that one back’

Honestly, i hope for the best with Young but if someone is available in the draft with less physical issues and upside,  do it before another year is wasted and make young earn his position

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
