Updates from Canales today after practice:

  • Icky was in uniform today but is doubtful for Sunday. BC or Nijman to start.
  • DB Damarri Mathis, who the Panthers had picked up off of waivers, tore his ACL this week on a non-contact play which is why he's been on the injury report. It occurred on Wednesday and he'll be getting surgery for it.
  • DLew + Hunt were listed as limited during the week but are not on the injury report for today
  • No game designation for A'Shawn as well

Not bad after all that panic

Cute how you did that while knowing the "playoff" team you speak of was a 7 win team my dude.

AND they also won the division and a playoff game my dude. What did last years team accomplish or was "cute"??

If they want to be relevant, if they want the fan base to give a poo, they need to win

no excuses anymore

it is the Jaguars, not the Eagles or Chiefs or or

of course, Evero’s defense will make Etienne look like Walter Payton and Lawrence like the #1 draft pick he is supposed to be

Time  to put up or shut up.... apathy is at an all time high. Sick of all the b/s the sports pundits spew trying to fluff Panther fans up.

In 2015 we won many games by a razor thin margin and overachieved. Sure we blew the doors off a few teams but by and large the tale of the 2015 season was the core talent of the team on both sides of the ball pulling out close wins.

LOL 11 victories by 7 points or more.... 8 by double digits...

5 games out of 16 by 7 or less is MANY?

Yep.   I guess it depends on your existing needs, but ideally, this is spot on.  He could be used as a third WR on passing downs and a third CB---which would get him probably around 50-60 snaps per game.  However, I think he is a long CB--and to me, a shut down CB is more valuable than a #1 WR--lotta folks might disagree with that, but I do not see him as a #1 WR in the NFL-a stud #2 perhaps--along the lines of a Tee Higgins at best.

I think if Hunter can be the Tee Higgins to BTJ.....it offers a higher ceiling overall for the Jags than if he was just a good corner.    Good corners overall are just that.  They don't really translate to wins by themselves.

Oh look all of the oline except for the one who needed non football minimally invasive surgery two weeks ago are good to go like this staff reports very minor stuff that previous staffs didnt.

I just think he's better suited at CB and it's a lot easier to create a special set of plays to get him on the field on offense versus defense. Offensive skill position players can be a bit autonomous where a defense has to function much more as a unit.

He is still a body catcher 90% of the time the dude is a CB and an guy who should get occasional offensive plays not a full time WR. His route running is also very sloppy.

As long as they do the right thing and Start Christenson (whose a better pass blocker than ickey anyways) no panic at all was needed.

Now if they go full retard and start turnstile Ninjasack the only thing worse will be the Bryce hate again after the first drive.

Yeah, he really just looked to be out-athleting everyone at WR in college. I don't see that working in the NFL. I think he could probably be an NFL WR but he's a project at WR. He's plug and play at CB. But yeah, the guy is such a playmaker that you want to get him some snaps on offense too but not to the point that it hampers his development as a CB. I would think 5-6 snaps a game on offense to start out with would be workable depending on how the game is going and his comfort level on defense.

I see it both ways, but I said "shut down" corner (I believe) not "good" CB.  I think--and I understand both sides--if he can play shut down cb, he is more valuable than a #2 WR-but it depends on many variables.  Interesting debate.
